Information Security:
Information security is the process of protecting information to define the
availability, privacy and integrity. Much of the information stored is highly confidential and not for public viewing. Many businesses are solely based on information stored in computers. Personal staff details, client lists, salaries, bank account details, marketing and sales information may all be stored on
storage devices. It becomes difficult for any enterprise to pull on without this information. Information security systems need to be implemented to protect them.
Effective information security systems incorporate a range of policies, security
products, technologies and procedures. Software applications which provide firewall information security and virus scanners are not enough on their own to protect information. Awareness as well as the use of security systems should become mandatory for every concern.
About Workshop
This one day workshop is designed for an audience interested in acquiring knowledge on various security related domains involving data, network, documents etc.

Eligibility:
The teachers and research scholars of engineering colleges and practicing engineers are eligible to attend. The participants will be provided with
working lunch. No TA/DA will be given. The number of participants is limited to 50.
Registration:
Application for participation in the workshop shall be sent to the coordinators as given in the attached format along with the registration fee of Rs.200/- by D.D. drawn in favor of The Director, NIT, Tiruchirappalli-620015 payable at SBI, NIT Branch (Code - 1617). Registration can also be made on the date of the workshop after paying the registration fee in person. For spot registration,
confirmation by email is mandatory for the participants. Selection is based on first come first served basis.
How to reach NIT Trichy?
National Institute of Technology is located on the Trichy-Tanjore highway (NH 67) about 20 kms from the main city. To reach NIT, bus no. 128 or buses going to Tanjore going from the Central Bus Stand (CBS) can be availed.
