National Conference on Changing Dimensions in Library Resources and Services in the Digital Era
About the Conference :
The application of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in libraries is influencing the collection building, services, infrastructure facilities and other resources to reach the concept of digital library or electronic library. This situation has an impact on services and resources. On the one hand library managements are interested to develop digital libraries that facilitate building e-resources, Institutional Repositories and similar resources that pave way for global access to information resources. On the other hand the library professionals are equally interested in introducing a variety of new services to match the growing demands of the users of heterogeneous nature. Keeping this in mind a National Level Conference has been proposed on "Changing Dimensions in Library Resources and Services in the Digital Era" with the following themes.

Collection/ Resources Development and Management and Issues
e-Resources/ Digital Resources and User expectations
Security Systems for Library Resources
Digital Resources and Preservations
Institutional Repositories
Information Literacy and Information Resources and Services
Digital Library Initiatives
Evaluation of Web Resources and Services - Web Creditability
Call for Papers:
Papers are called for presentations and publication of conference proceedings. The paper must be original contribution and should not be published in any other publication. The papers which are application oriented addressing the problems and solutions are most welcome.
Instruction for Authors :
Only full length paper will be accepted for presentation and publication in the Conference Proceeding. Paper should be not exceeding 10 pages of A4 size with 1.5 line spacing in Times New Roman font 12 sizes. A soft copy of the paper should be sent by e-mail on or before 5th March 2008.
Target Audience :
This National Level Conference is aimed at a broader section of Library Professionals, Research Scholars, Students in LIS Schools and IT Professionals.
Resource Persons :
Most experienced experts of specialized field across the Country will deliver the lectures.
Registration:
Categories Fee
Librarians Rs.300/-
Research Scholor/student Rs.200/-
Hostel accommodation will be provided for outstation participants. Payment should be made through Demand Draft drawn in favour of "Organising Secretary, LIBRSDE -2008" payable at Chennai along with registration form. No TA/ DA will be paid to the participants.

Submission of Full Paper : 25th March 2008
Intimation to Authors : 30th March 2008
Registration up to : 10th April 2008
Conference date : 18th - 19th April 2008
