Programme Coverage
The significance of investing in people to ensure economic development and quality of living across the world is now universally acknowledged. Education is the main instrument for development and change. Effective management of our educational institutions is therefore vital not only for production and dissemination of knowledge, but also for nation building, training, and development of human resources for a competitive economy. This exerts additional pressure on the education systems to be more responsive to the needs of the people it serves. The management or administrators of these systems are required to learn new technologies of management, and increase their speed and quality of service by continuous training and upgrading of managerial and administrative skills.
We continue to squabble on what education means, what it intends to achieve, what are its goals, etc. Somehow, the feeling is that while facilities and infrastructure remain key focus areas for schools, the essence is getting eroded. Which brings us to the fundamental question: what constitutes education? Or to put it more bluntly: What is learnt when all that was taught in school has ceased to matter?
This programme aims to answer these questions besides facilitating a dialogue about teaching and learning in the school environment in order assist the art and practice of teaching to keep pace with emerging demands and challenges. It covers a wide gamut of issues such as science of learning, pedagogy, classroom climate, curriculum development, varied learning and teaching styles, stages of student development, thinking and problem-solving skills etc. It also provides insights on developing commitment, credibility, competence, integrity and, ability and most importantly, the will to contribute the very best to the institution and its various stakeholders-students, teachers, parents, employers, society, government and the nation.
Objectives:
• To sensitize educationists, educational psychologists, curriculum planners, educators, and education leaders to the purpose of education, the notion of excellence in education, pedagogical innovations etc. besides enhancing the abilities of the participants to effectively address the challenges of the 21st century. • To bring radical change in the role of teacher and student, content, pedagogical approaches, modes of delivery of education along with the change in the work culture of schools. • To identify key issues, challenges and opportunities to enhance the quality, motivation and commitment of teachers in the teaching-learning process in pursuit of excellence and to facilitate an exciting work ambience and work culture at the physical, social, emotional and intellectual levels.

Pedagogy
The learning programme will be participatory and interactive. Concept sessions, experience sharing, discussions and group-work will be interwoven to deliver an insightful experience. The entire approach is integrative and interdisciplinary. Most of the inputs are drawn from highly successful experiments as well as classical and contemporary writings on the subject.
What the Participants Say?
It is undoubtedly a well organized programme, meticulously planned and distributed. The Programme provides lot of insights and inspiration, which will certainly help me in work. The lectures were very excellent and thought provoking. The Programme certainly added lot of values to my understanding of the concept. Within a span of 3 days it covered areas which even a formal teacher training fails to do over a year. The entire course was well supplemented with papers and handouts for us to refer to whenever the need arises. The Course materials provided to us are one of the best. Lectures and discussions were never too formal so that participants were always at liberty to share their views & opinions. It was wholesome experience of the other dimensions of education. The Programme was informative and gave insights into innovative methods as to how education may be imparted in a student friendly manner keeping into consideration our cultural aspect and traditions. Lot of effort was done to compile the information, study cases. Some of the methods adopted in this programme gave us some insights as to how we may diversify our selves to make teaching-learning more effective. Participants Session, Panel discussions gave us a platform to share and exchange our views.
