Programme Details – Objectives:
The broad objective of the programme is to help participants develops themselves as effective managers In the organizational context. Managers require a combination of various skills to manage effectively. While technical & conceptual skills are important, research has shown that managing interpersonal Relationships is a critical differentiator between effective and medicre managers. Therefore this Programme addresses issues related to interpersonal effectiveness. The specific objectives of the Programme are:
Understanding self first – what are one’s strengths and weaknesses • Learning about communication issues – Listening skills, negotiation skills, influencing styles, And managing conflict. • Understanding Team Dynamics and how people act in team situations • Learning about leadership issues in managerial situations • Developing the ability to be creative and manage change situations effectively
Pedagogy:
Instructors will act more as facilitators in helping participants through the process of learning, using Lectures, discussions, case studies, and experiential exercises. The learning will heavily depend on active participation from the participants in all the above, especially in discussions and sharing of experiences And learning everyday.
Programme Directors:
Prof. Leena Chatterjee and Prof. Sujoya Basu are both faculty members of the Behavioral Sciences Group at the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. Prof. Chatterjee has a rich teaching and training experience for private and public sector enterprises for more than two decades at IIMC. She also has widely acclaimed publications in form of books and journal articles, nationally and internationally. Prof. Basu has been involved in teaching and training for more than two years at IIMC. She has varied industry experience in the capacity of both managerial and consultant positions, before joining IIMC. She has national and international level conference publication to her credit.

Arrival/Departure
For the participants, accommodation is arranged from the evening of the day before the programme. Participants are requested to report at the Reception Desk of Tata Hall latest by 9.00 a.m. on the first day of the Programme. Reception of Tata Hall is manned round the clock.
The Programmes are expected to be over by 2. 00 p.m. on the last day of the Programme. The participants are requested/expected to make their travel plan accordingly.
Programme Fees: Rs. 30,000/- (Rupees thirty thousand only)
Programe fees are to be paid by Demand Draft/Cheque payable at any Bank in Kolkata. The DD/Ch. should be made in favour of “Indian Institute of Management Calcutta” and sent to the below mentioned address at least three weeks prior to the commencement of the MDP.
