IBPS - A common test for Bank jobs in India

This article explains about the new announcement made by all public sector Nationalized banks to host a single eligibility test for jobs which will be announced on or after 01-06-2011. Through this test Bank Clerks, Entry level officers and Special officers will be recruited for all banks except SBI and it's associate banks.

What is IBPS? :
IBPS is a joint initiative of RBI – Reserve Bank of India and all Public Sector Banks. IBPS - Institute of Banking Personal Selection.

Purpose:
To facilitate a single entrance test for all PSU- Public Sector Undertaking Banks. On behalf of all banks IBPS will conduct the examination and issues score cards for who were undertaken exams. The score card is valid for one year.

Posts Include:
1. Clerical Cadre
2. Entry level Officer
3. Specialist Officer

How many times for a year? :
Twice.

Recruitment Process:
After writing the examination the aspirants get score cards. After the successful completion of further rounds like PI- Personal Interview and GD- Group Discussion the persons will be recruited directly.

No. of Jobs:
7.5 lack jobs in next coming 5 years.
For the current year it is around 45,000.
