In this article, I have mentioned the Council of Ministers with their respective portfolios. I have mentioned the number of Ministers in the present Council of Ministers. I have the ministers holding the key post of Finance,Agriculture,Food and Higher Education.

TamilNadu Council of Ministers 2011

After the AIADMK won the polls comfortably, the Council of Ministers were announced and sworn in on 16.05.2011. This year the number of the Council of Ministers have been increased to 34 while a maximum of 35 ministers can be inducted. None of the members of the alliance parties featured in the Council of ministers. Interestingly only nine of the ministers have featured in the previous list of Council of Ministers during the AIADMK tenure. Three women featured in the list of Council of Ministers.

1. Ms J.Jayalalitha is the Chief Minister . She handles the following departments -Public, Indian Police Service, General Administration, District Revenue Officers, Prevention of Corruption, Home, Indian Forest Service, Indian Administrative Service, Police,.
2. Mr O. Paneerselvam is the Minister for Finance .
3. Mr K.A.Sengotaiyyan is the Minister for Agriculture .
4. Mr Natham R. Vishwanathan is the Minister for Electricity .
5. Mr C.Shanmugavelu is the Minister for Industries.
6. Mr K P Munusamy is the Minister for Municipal Administration and Rural Development.
7. Mr Agri S.S.Krishnamoorthy is the Minister for Food .
8. Mr R.Vaithilingam is the Minister for Housing and Urban Development.
9. Mr P.Palaniyappan is the Minister for Higher Education .
10. Mr C.Karuppasamy is the Minister for Animal Husbandry.
11. Mr C.Ve Shanmugam is the Minister for School Education.
12. Mr K Raju is the Minister for Cooperation.
13. Mr K.T.Pachamal is the Minister for Forests .
14. Mr Edappadi K.Palanisamy is the Minister for Highways and Minor ports.

22. Mrs S.Gokula Indira is the Minister for Commercial Taxes and Registration.

Recent Announcement is that Mr N.Mariyam Pichai(Minister for Environment) has died in a car accident on 23rd May 2011. So the list will be updated when the new minister for the portfolio is announced.
