Death penalty is not a new one as invented by present peole. It is in the vogue since historical period. Why the King nedunchezhian gave death penalty to the businessman Kovalan, in Silappathikaaram. The opposed king Veerapandia Kattapomman hanged through a death penalty by British. Bagath Singh was sentenced death penalty. If there is no death penalty, the fear of doing crime including murdering will vanish from the minds of criminals. Since this is kaliyug, the criminals will mushroom, defenitely and the death penalty should be there. That too the death penalty should not be postponed on any circumstances and it should be done within a short period. Mercy petition, Appealing possibility can be applicable only for cases other than the sentence of death penalty. To avoid this the Judges should also be careful in sentencing the death penalty as a innocent should not be get punished.
