State Bank of India is India's largest bank is going to recruit 1000 PO(Probationary Officers) in 2011 recruitment program. Candidate seeking for bank jobs may apply for this. The selection will be made through written examination and Group discussion and interviews.

State Bank of India is India's largest bank, is looking for candidates for the post of probationary officers. There is seat for 1000 candidates out of which after reservation 505 seats are left for general category.An examination will be held for selection of candidates. Selected candidates will be recruited after passing interview only.

Eligibility criteria

1.Graduate from any discipline
2.should have attained the age of 21 and not more than the age of 30 as on may1,2011

Date of written examination: July24,2011(Sunday)

How to apply

1.Ensure eligibility criteria is satisfied.
2.Download fee voucher (attachment is given below or you can also download it from bank's website)
3.Pay the required fee through any SBI branch and get your registration no. which will be provided by branch on depositing of prescribed fee. Fee for general and other category is Rs.500 and for sc/st/pwd is Rs.50 only.
4.Scan your photograph and signature in size limit prescribed.
5.Apply online after obtaining registration no. only(as registration no. is required to fill up the form online)

Salary and probation period

The probation period is 2years after which candidate may be eligible for permanent posting.Initially monthly pay including basic,DA, HRA etc. is Rs.27800 at metropolitan centers.

Examination centers

Examination will be held at almost 77 centers in India, you can find that list in attached copy of advertisement below.

Examination scheme in short

The aforesaid exam will contain 2 phases one is written examination and another is GD and interview. Under written examination there will be both objective cum descriptive type questions. Maximum marks allotted for this phase is 250. It will consist of questions from following subjects:

Test of English Language (General English, basic knowledge)

Test of General Awareness, Marketing & Computers

Test of Data Analysis & Interpretation

Test of Reasoning (High Level)

Qualifying marks for the test is 40% for general and 35% for category other than general. In descriptive type test there will be question for general English level knowledge.The merit list of written examination will be based on the aggregate of the marks obtained by the candidates in Objective and Descriptive tests.

In phase second there will be group discussion of 20 marks and interview of 30 marks

Final Selection

The candidate have to pass both the phases separately. A candidate have to get minimum 40%marks in general category and 35% marks for other than general category.
Results of qualified candidates will be published on bank's website and will be published in 'employment news'. The selection will be subject to producing to bank all required certificate fulfilling eligibility criteria, till then selection is provisional.
