Regional Institute of Education, Mysore invites applications from eligible candidates for admission to the following pre-service Teacher Education programmes for the academic year 2011-12. Regional Institute of Education, Mysore is a constituent unit of National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

Courses at Regional Institute of Education, Mysore

Regional Institute of Education, Mysore offers 4 Year Integrated B.Sc.Ed, B.A.Ed, 6 Year Integrated M.Sc.Ed, One Year M.Ed (affiliated to the University of Mysore) and International Diploma in Guidance and Counseling (IDGC) courses.

1- Admission to B.Sc.Ed at Regional Institute of Education, Mysore

Course Duration : 4 Years (Eight Semesters)
Eligibility for Admission to B.Sc.Ed at Regional Institute of Education, Mysore : A pass in PUC or equivalent with 45% marks in aggregate with subjects: i) Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for PCM Stream, and ii) Physics, Chemistry and Biology OR Chemistry, Botany & Zoology for CBZ stream.

Selection : Selection to B.Sc.Ed course at Regional Institute of Education, Mysore will be on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination

2- Admission to B.A.Ed Course at Regional Institute of Education, Mysore

Course Duration : 4 Years (Eight Semesters)
Eligibility for Admission to B.A.Ed at Regional Institute of Education, Mysore : A pass in PUC or equivalent with 45% marks in aggregate and with English, Regional Language and any two of the subjects: History, Geography, Economics, Political Science & Sociology

Selection : Selection to B.A.Ed course at Regional Institute of Education, Mysore will be on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination

3- Admission to M.Sc.Ed Course at Regional Institute of Education, Mysore

This is an integrated 6 years course in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics.
Course Duration : 6 Years (Twelve Semesters)
Eligibility for Admission to M.Sc.Ed at Regional Institute of Education, Mysore : A pass in PUC or equivalent with 45% marks in aggregate and with subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Selection : Selection to M.Sc.Ed course at Regional Institute of Education, Mysore will be on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and Entrance Test.

4- Admission to M.Ed Course at Regional Institute of Education, Mysore

Course Duration : 1 Years (Two Semesters)
Eligibility for Admission to M.Ed at Regional Institute of Education, Mysore : A pass in B.Ed. / B.Sc.Ed. / B.A.Ed. or equivalent degree with 50% marks in aggregate. Candidates with a PG degree will be given appropriate weightage.

Selection : Selection to M.Ed course at Regional Institute of Education, Mysore will be on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and Entrance Test.

5- Admission to IDGC Course at Regional Institute of Education, Mysore
International Diploma in Guidance and Counseling (IDGC) is a one year course offered through distance mode. Admission to International Diploma in Guidance and Counseling (IDGC) course at Regional Institute of Education, Mysore begin from October 2011. How to Apply for Courses at Regional Institute of Education, Mysore

Application can be obtained in person from Academic Section of the Institute on payment of Rs.300/- or by post by sending DD for Rs.300/-(Rs.250/- for SC/ST candidates) from a Nationalised Bank drawn in favour of Principal, RIE Mysore , payable at Mysore, along with self addressed envelope of size 26cm X 12cm bearing a stamp for Rs.10/-. Application form and general information to candidates can be downloaded from the website www.riemysore.ac.in and filled in application be sent along with the demand draft. Separate application should be submitted for each stream / programme.

Admission to M.Sc.Ed Programme is on all India basis, whereas admission to B.Sc.Ed, B.A.Ed and M.Ed Programmes is open to candidates of southern states and UTs only.

Duly filled application along with enclosures should be sent to the following address on or before 20th June 2011.
