How to do parenting of twins
This article suggests ways of parenting twins. There were times when people saw twins once in a blue moon. The number of twins has been on the increase since the last 20 years. These twins could be seen everywhere, classrooms, play grounds and clinics etc.

Why twins take births?
Changes in lifestyles, for instance pregnancy in advanced ages (becoming mother at the age of 35-40), infertility treatments, the excellent medicine ‘clomiphene’ for ovulation and natural reasons are the explanations of the twins taking births.
When in a woman’s body, more than one ovum are discharged and both the ovum fertilize to develop, then fraternal twins are born who could be of different sexes. Identical twins are born when a fertilized ovum of the same sex gets divided in two foetuses.
It could be found out through the ultrasonography as to how many of foetuses are there in a woman’s body so that the woman in question and her relatives live physically and mentally prepared to welcome the upcoming children.
If there is more than one foetus in the womb, it expands immensely, as of result; it begins constricting before the completion of the gestation period. This is the reason why twins are born before time and small in size as well.
The second thing is that foetuses could live in the womb in any position, causing difficulties in normal delivery. Under such circumstances, caesarean delivery is considered safer. But how the delivery is to be undertaken is to be decided only by the Doctors.
If you do not have the desire for more children after the deliverance of the twins, you could consult the Doctor for contraceptives.
Twins- not similar to ‘one free on one’
It isn’t necessary to mention here that the cost incurred on upbringing one child doubles up in upbringing twos.
Hoe expenses are quadrupled up- extra servants –maids, foods, clothes and what not? No expenses could be curtailed! Veena Irani had already a child from before! To add to this is the births of twins! She got perplexed with the birth of the twins. What would happen? School fees of three children? Three mutual funds? Three post office accounts? How could these possibly be done? To add to the miseries are the routined problems rearing its heads incessantly.
The most important thing in such a sordid scenario is the cooperation of couples in question. Both should lend to each other the much needed physical and emotional supports, encouragements, and working on foxed schedules.
There is not four but eight hands needed to manage twins. The hands of that of the wife and husband! Every family member should prove to be a helping hand in this hour of crisis- this is a crisis of sort. Managing twins is not a child’s play. The mother has to rush up to another room carrying her one of the twins crying in the dead of night so that the other little thing doesn’t wake up.
Family members such as mother and father-in-law, brothers and sisters of husbands etc, prove to be a saviour of sorts during such sordid period. But alas, there are no more a combined family noticeable anywhere. Nuclear family has become a norm. You need all sorts of help during this juncture- as much helps as you could possibly get and until as longer as might be possible to get.
Feeding milk to the twins
Yes, you can breast feed both your child. There is not a set measure of the quantum of milk that forms in the woman’s body during post natal periods. Breasts can meet the milk demand of the twins. One breast may yield milk sufficient enough for one among the twins. You have only to know the correct ways of feeding milk to them. If your children are small and cannot suck in breast milk, the milk can be extracted from the breast pump. Those babies born before time who, though can gulp milk but cannot suck in, may be fed with the expressed milk through the pot ‘like the beak of crows’.
Some of the mothers’ breast feed while feeding the other child with the bottled milk. As per formula feeding 16 bottles of milk could get consumed in a day. Soon children learn to hold on the bottles on their own.
Conclusion
If one child vomits other would follow suit. Their persona differs though and later on they follow a different career graph. No matter what the MTV show ‘Connected’ claim that there is a sort of telepathy between the twins but science contradicts it. The following cares has to be taken in matters of twins:
- The names shouldn’t be similar.
- Don’t push them together forcefully as if they are not two but one.
- Do never call them twins.
- Dress them alike only for some special function.
- Before they develop the company of each other, mix them with other companions also.
- Encourage them to play with different children.
- If possible, keep them separated in school.
- Praise the qualities of both. Don’t impose labels on them.
- Do never take it as granted that the twins shall b e friends. It is not necessary.
