Indian Institute of Management Bangalore
Executive Education Programme
Valuation
Programme Director: M S Narasimhan Venue: IIMB Campus Dates:1 - 3 July, 2008
Introducation :
Valuation turns complex when the economy grows at a high rate with many emerging industries. Here is an opportunity to learn theory of valuation and also get practical insight on valuation and avoid some of the common mistakes. As the valuation moves upward, analysts instead of objectively estimating the cash flows and valuing the assets, start identifying factors to justify the value. This short cut to valuation leads to market crashes and it normally takes several months for the market to recover from such mistakes. An objective estimate of future cash flows drawing upper and lower bound with probabilities would help you to get scientific value of an asset. This programme aims to provide a comprehensive input on valuation of equity and other assets.
