What happens if a person submits a copied content?

Posted Date:     Category: General
Author: Member Level: Diamond    Points: 20

Posting or republishing the copied contents will not only spoil the name of the author who copied the contents but also the place where it is published. Hence it is always suggested to prepare the contents in your own words, never copy either a paragraph or a photograph made by the original author through his/her hard work and also made through a lot of search and research.

Do you have a habit or weakness of posting copied contents either at your site or at your blog and republish them as your own hard work then you should definitely know about the after effects of such activity!

You will be branded as a copycat, your blog or site may get readers in the initial stage, once they come to know the contents in your blog or site is already published elsewhere.

They stop visiting your blog or site and in a way you are helping them to find the source where the original contents are available, they stop at original source and never return to your blog or site.

Stealing activity may be enjoyed for a few days but not always, your site or blog may lose visitors which is termed as organic traffic.

Under such circumstance what you can do is better provide a link back to the source content, but making this a habit is also not worth.

If you find the original content is really worth and related to some of your own write up in the article then you can proceed with giving a back link but I suggest you always stay as an independent writer whereby all such your write ups will maintain a uniqueness and certainly will bring a lot of traffic provided if your content contains some present or ongoing issues whether technical or non-technical.

If you republish a content or an article which is already published somewhere by somebody through their hard work, strain etc, you will be easily labeled as a copycat.

You may include your own contents in your blog or site later but the label of copycat earned earlier may not go easily, it may take a long time to erase this label which is possible only through sensible search and meaningful writing in your own words, above all try to give certain unique contents, whereby the content should be able to get a bulk search.

Particularly here at IndiaStudyChannel never try to fool the webmaster or the concerned editors they are intelligent enough to trace the copied contents some may miss today but certainly it will be caught tomorrow.

Further webmasters of many such sites are members or customers for DMCA or Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 1998 which is a copyright act to curtail anti-piracy, with its help the original author can file a report against a content thief, they can file a complaint through DMCA, contents which are republished illegally has to be removed and there are numerous ways to trace the copied contents.

The person who republishes other original authors contents as his own and may impress few but not search engines they are very intelligent and clever enough to differentiate which is original and which is stolen.

Search engines may go to such an extent that it uses its excellent filters to filter the copied content and such copied contents will never appear in search results, hence the person who have a habit of publishing copied contents in their blog or site need to be more careful to avoid any such copied contents, search engines will never allow such sites or blogs which have copied contents to get a place in search result.

Search engines are the only source where a site or blog has to get a good and healthy traffic where we can say more than 50% of the traffic will come only with the help of search engines, if a site or blog affected and branded as a copycat then such sites and blogs will never get a good page rank.

Tips to prepare good articles

There are many good articles available on the net which contains some excellent tips to prepare articles in your own words, you can go through one such article Good Article Writing Tips, whereby it enlightens the reader with ways of selecting the subject, how one can spread out the information, the proper usage of grammar, punctuation which plays a vital part in making an article to get a good traffic.

Hence, try to spin the original article which means keep the subject in mind and pen down it in your own way impressively.

Further you can add some more information as much as possible to keep the reader or searcher for a long time at your article, I bet if you practice this, within few days you can bring out a better article than the original.

Hence it is always suggested that be your own and write contents in your own words keeping in mind the effects of search engine optimization, never copy anything either it may be a paragraph or a photograph, the original author worked hard to give a good shape to his article never try to take away his hard work.

Nice Article, Mr. Ravishankara. I wish to draw your attention to this resource which was approved simultaneously in two websites viz., ISC and StudyVillage.com? First the link here at ISC: /resources/144641-Festember-The-annual-cultural-festival-NIT.aspx Here is the link to the same article by same author in StudyVillage.com: studyvillage.com/resources/3016-Festember-The-annual-cultural-festival-NIT.aspx

The resource posted here has got 25 points and Rs.25 cash credits. I have raised this issue in the resource response itself but to no avail. Is the above teachings only for selected others?

Is it allowed to post in a sister site and post the same content here for approval [getting it approved]? ISC Admin please clarify?

The post really assumes important mark on it as it deals with the very basic sin i.e. the 'reproduction of original articles'. good you just not have discussed the problem alone but the solution too. Really we need posts like this to make every member a true and fair member.

I really accept the article. One should not copy the others effort to show that as their own effort. The result of the copied content will not give good name for the long time. As Rajnikanth's dialogue the thing that comes without hard work goes away immediately. I also accept the same.

Nice article. It is the responsibility of every member to stop the coping of contents, but there are so many new joiners who are innocent about this technical fact. So decision should take after full investigation.

Good article. I think persons with copying and paste habits wants to remove from there mind. They must be thought after the copy they called as copycats. And much hurts use person who owns the article.

Copying someone articles online and using it is a great offense that this site should not be over look but should be dealt with sever punishment. The reason is that Google will not be happy seeing something like that and the site will be blacklisted.
