This article is about a URL shortening or shrinking service. In which they pay in different ways for each visitor who visits the ad.And also a detailed description of some of the options they have provided for publishing the ads and how their payments are made and their advantages.
What is adf.ly?
Adf.ly is a URL shortening or shrinking service like[ tinyurl ], but the difference is you get paid for each visit to your shrinked URLs.
[For example: if you have a long URL like this ( http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FFls61tMkRU/ThOt7XhhYYI/AAAAAAAAAC8/9oi3qkh4ALI/s1600/images.jpg )
Using adf.ly too many characters can be shortened like this ( http://adf.ly/2v7Mf )]
How does adf.ly work?
just simply shrinks or shortens your long URL and that serves ads in every link that you create and when someone views it you make money. The ad shows for 5 seconds before you can click "skip ad" and continue to the links destination.
The amount of money you can make is about ($0.21 to $5.18)for per thousand views(this depends on the viewers from which country).
These are some ways that is provided adf.ly to make money:
1. Interstitial Advert
2. Framed Banner
3. No Advert
Using the first two option you make money. The third option is a free shrink.
Now a detail description about the adf.ly options:
a) Interstitial Adverts
By displaying interstitial ads in your links you earn the highest of all alternative. If you shrink a link with interstitial ad and when people come to see it , a full screen advertisement will be viewed for a duration of 5 seconds and then appears the small arrow on the right corner with "Skip ad" in it, before they continue to the destination link.
b) Framed banner
This is less painful for everyone that clicks on your link with the Framed banner. Because the ad will not take up a whole screen; instead it will show only the banner at the top of the browser. However you will be paid less compared to interstitial ads.
c) No adverts
In this ad, it just shrinks the link and show the full page of the destination link. Even if you have 1000 visitors every hour, you no cannot make money with this adverts.
How their payments are made?

I personally feel that framed banner will be better than interstitial adverts. The reason is many users/visitors are not aware that the initial page which is opening is just an ad and the the main page which they wished to see will appear after 5 seconds. Many will be think that the concern page is irrelevant and may close the page. I myself have closed this.
Secondly in India the rate is $1.04 and $0.52 (for unique and Raw) for interstitial and $0.51 and $0.42 for banner ads per thousand CPV and CPM respectively. Which is very low when compared to other advertising options.
Finally people using Google ads should use this as far as I know. Also if the visitor close the page within 5 seconds it will not considered as page view. The visitor who comes should have cookies and java script enabled and adobe flash installed.
