eLitmus Employability Test
eLitmus is said to be one of the India's largest Employability test which helps students to get a job. They conduct perfect assessment of students and then send them to recruitment for company that is for the entry level engineers. eLitmus will conduct a test, written test called pH test and based on the scores they will send the students to companies. eLitmus is said to be the online job consultancy which helps fresh graduates and students in getting a best suitable job based on their profile.
What is pH test :
The acronym pH stands for Hiring Potential Test (pH Test). So this pH test is all about testing a candidate potential before they are hired by some company. The purpose of the pH test is to test the candidate in their aptitude, reasoning, verbal and also in the personality skills and to match him with the suitable job profile.
Format and pattern of eLitmus pH test :
There are three sections in eLitmus paper.
2. Logical Reasoning
Section 1: Quant Section ( 20 Questions)
Quantitative aptitude is the first section where every students faces. This is a section which test student on their mathematical skills which we have studied in our lower grade. Usually getting a correct answer for about 8 - 9 questions will surely fetch you around 90 percentile. This is an important section as well a difficult section where question will be based on the following.
1. Number System
2. Work and time
6. Mensuration and other basic mathematics.
This is not the full list which comes sure for your test. This list covers the majority which comes in the pH test but also you need to study for complete quant.
Section 2: DI and Logical Reasoning ( 20 Questions)
Logical Reasoning is the second section which tests your ability in lateral thinking to solve problems. This is most important where companies see your talent as this lateral varies from people to people. A simple problem can be reasoned in many ways by each people. So companies look in for candidates who can think the best and solve the problem in the easiest way. As stated it is the most difficult section of the eLitmus and you need to answer at least 5 correctly to get some 90 percentile. This section includes,
1. DI- tabular data with conditions 5 questions
2. Arrangement ( visiting 3 villages each day, 5 villages... with lots of conditions) 3 questions
3. Coding/Decoding based on multiplication
Section 3: Verbal ( 20 Questions)
This is the last section and the easiest section to get good score. When compared to other sections, Verbal is the most easiest and all students gets the most high score in this section. This section includes,
1. 3 Reading Compression with 4 questions in each
2. Paragraph formation
3. Fill in the blank with appropriate word
4. Grammar test.
5. Sentence Correction/Completion
Well, you can start your preparation for the eLitmus pH test by taking practice of the CAT exam papers because this is a test which has equal standards as off the CAT exam. Also R.S. Agarwal book will not be sufficient you to answer the pH test but you use it to learn the formula's from the R.S. Agarwal book.
Probability section will be the tougher and which you need to work on a lot. Also use Arun Sharma book for further reference.
pH Scores :
The pH scores will not be in marks or percentage as you know. It will be in Percentile form which is different from percentage. Many students gets confused them self between Percentage and Percentile.
For example, Let us assume that Shathyan has scored 80th percentile in pH test. It means that 80% of pH test takers have scored less than him and only 20% people have scored more than him. Say there are 100000 test takers in an year then as per the example 20% of candidates that is 20,000 in all are above Shathyan.
Eligibility criteria for eLitmus pH test:
As per the eLitmus management, there are no eligibility criteria to take up the pH test as off now. Currently this pH test will be beneficial only candidates who have completed or studying a degree in BE/B.Tech, MCA, ME/M.Tech or M.Sc(CS/IT) students to get job.
Also eLitmus does not have any academic percentage cutoff for students to take the pH test. All you need to be either a graduate, final year or pre-final year student to take the pH test and get a job through it.
There is no limit in taking the pH test of eLitmus. Every candidate has no restriction on the number of times he/she takes the pH test. For the companies' visibility, eLitmus will post your latest three scores scored by you for their shortlisting.
The pH score for the test taken by you will be declared generally within 1 week from the date you took the test. You can check your scores by logging in to your personal eLitmus account of Scores section under Mytest.
eLitmus Fees details & Payment Procedure :
There is some minimal fees for taking up this pH test. Only if you pay the fees, you will be eligible to take our pH test. While registering at the eLitmus site is free, but to appear for the eLitmus pH test you have to pay Rs.699/-.
Mode of payment:
There are three ways you can use to pay the test fee:
(1) Online: If you have a credit card or online banking facility, you can pay the test fee online.
For online payment you need to go to the Tests and then click My Tests. Click on "Payment Options" link and then choose the "Pay Online" option. Once you click "Pay online now" you will be directed to the eLitmus payment gateway. From there you can pay by any of the following means.
You can pay via,
(i) Credit card
(ii) Net Banking account of the listed banks
(iii) PAYMATE facility of CitiBank
(iv) Its cash cards.
(2) Demand Draft: Yes, they do accept Demand Draft, which most of the students prefer to be the safe one. The DD should be made in favor of 'eLitmus Evaluation Pvt Ltd' and payable at Bangalore. So for the payment through Demand Draft payment you need to mention your Name and Registration Id on the backside of the DD which you will get once you register yourself in our website.
(3) By Cash: They also accept cash but it is only in their Bangalore office.
Cash is only accepted in their Bangalore office which is the Head Office. You can come down to their office in Bangalore on a working day anytime between 10.00am and 6.00pm to make the payment.
Note: Please carry your registration id when you come to pay by cash.
eLitmus schedule dates & test centers :
You can schedule the pH test yourself once your payment has been received by eLitmus. Also even during the registration process you can select and fix your test schedule but you should make sure to pay your fees before that test date. The list of the test centers and their dates will be available online and you can select the one which is nearer and comfortable for you.
Important Note: the eLitmus test cannot be taken online from your home.
pH score validity
The pH score and percentile which you scored will be valid for a period of 2 years from the date of the test.
Also as said above, you can take up the eLitmus test any number of times, and only your latest three test score will be visible for the companies to shortlist you for their interview process. If you are in doubt about the validity of your score at any time, you simply need to check it out at the eLitmus website directly.
