This article will help students to check the status of their scholarship application (merit-cum-means scholarship) provided to students pursuing professional courses like MBBS, BE, MBA, Paramedical courses etc from the Central Government under the organization of Ministry of Minority Affairs.
Brief introduction of the scheme and organization
Ministry of Minority affairs concerned with the welfare of minority communities, have been providing
financial assistance
from past five years to the meritorious students of minority communities, encouraging them to pursue careers in professional fields. Thousands of poor and meritorious students have been benefited from this scheme till now and hope the same continues in the coming years.
Those who are only interested to know the procedure to check status, without spending time to read the details given below, can scroll down to the end of the article.
Students are allowed to register online between August-september of every year, scholarship amount is sanctioned to the deserving students after few months, usually between the month of february and may, after scrutiny and approval. More details regarding the
procedure to apply for merit-cum-means scholarsip
can be found in this link.
Unlike till last year, this time Government has adapted a different approach by allowing students to
register online
and the same is approved online by the concerned institution. The approved applications from the concerned institutions are forwarded to the Central Government. The central government then sanction scholarships to students who meet the required criteria bases on their academic results and progress.
Due to large number of applications, it takes a couple of months time in scrutinization and approval. However, the students have been provided with an option to
check the status of application,
whether approved or rejected, from the official website.
This article is mainly posted to check out the status of application from the official website. Since the website do not provide easy navigation and links to check the status, it is very difficult for any student to check their status of application. This article helps you find that 'hidden' link or rather link present in the wrong place on website.
Procedure to check the status of application
Open the web browser and enter the url www.momascholarship.gov.in. You will be taken to the official website. Most of the students tend to check their status under "Student registration and update details'. However, as I mentioned earlier, the link is in the wrong place. The status can be checked under the tab
"Feedback"
, which is located in the same row as "student registration", towards right side.
Upon clicking on the feedback, you will be provided with two options to check the status. One is temporary ID which is generated after submitting application online. Every registered student will have it in their provided email address. However, temporary ID enables to make changes in the applied application only. It is the second option,
Permanent ID
which will be forwarded to students to their email id and mobile number(sms) once their application reaches the central office. Enter this ID in the provided box and click view status'. The following window will show the details of your application including whether it has been approved, rejected or awaiting reviewing. Students who have applied for the first time(Freshers) are given priority over renewals, in terms of reviewing the application.
