Present trend of teacher education:
Latest changes occur in teacher education. As per NCTE norms, a person who wants to become a teacher he should qualify TET(Teacher Eligibility Test). Then only he can appear for Teacher recruitment examination in any state in India. From 2009 onwards, Right to education act was taken by government of India which indicates how the government gives importance to child education. According to this act, a child of age between 6 to 14 years should be in any school in India. That child should not be excluded from the school. According to this rule, a child should be supplied free uniform, free text books and free mid day meals with two eggs on every week. This is the way that government feeds the children in India. All these activities comes under "Sarva Siksha Abhiyan". In Andhra Pradesh, with association of health department, education department implements "Javahar Aarogya Raksha cards". According to this programme, every child in government school should be healthy and if any problem that the child has that would be taken up by the government to give hosptilization to the child. For handicapped children, government arranges ramps, vehicles and other extra facilities to make them fruitful citizens for India.

Teacher education should have the following criteria to examine a candidate whether he suits for a teacher.
1. Patience: A student teacher should have this quality because different types of children come to school and they are not on same level of IQ, so by understanding their levels one should teach lessons to them to make experts in the subjects. In order to improve interest on subjects, teacher has to develop this quality.
2. Skills: All educated persons have enough knowledge to produce their intelligent ability. But, their skills will be appeared when their taught lessons are reached to the pupil. For that purpose, student teachers have to develop skills and approaches to make children to sensible to their teachings.
3. Attitude: First of all, before coming to teaching profession, one should have interest on this profession. A person should have enthuasism to prepare the pupil to make useful human resources for that country. So, our elders say a teacher is a melting candle.
There is teacher education at diploma and degree level. Those candidates who have completed intermediate education or 12th class they can do diploma in education. In that course, one can study teaching approaches and techniques in all subject needed for primary education. In degree level, one can learn a particular teaching approaches and techniques at high school level. For teacher education at degree level, one has to complete degree in particular subjects they want to do teacher education
