This resource will be helpful for the persons looking for building an organization and who have already started the organization. Organization is the integration of various departments to form a united organization.
Introduction
Organization is the composition of various departments and jobs. If the structure of the organization is well planned and designed, then the growth of that organization is comparatively high. All the employees in the organization should work effectively and efficiently to develop the organization in terms of productivity which will in turn increase the profit and benefits for the employees.
Let us now see the nature and the features of the organization.
Nature of the organization
The below are the natures of the organization:
Common Purpose
Each organization should have the common goal called profit. But the organization should not fully depend on this single goal (Profit). Other than profit, the organization should have goals which will develop the social status of the organization and its responsibility it terms of the economic development and the people development.
Labour
Labour is considered as the important aspect of the organization. The organization should be divided in the various departments namely production, sales, manufacturing, finance, personnel, administration, etc. So, the work can be divided among the labours and the work can be maintained in the organized structure.
Authority
The next important nature of the organization is the structure of authority. The authority between the employees should be properly defined. The manager and his subordinates should have proper relationship and understanding so as to develop the organization. So, the authority plays an important role in the organization.
Communication
Communication will be the back bone of the organization. Communication between the internal and the external environment should be clear. Communication can be formal or informal, but it should always have the goal of the organization welfare. Communication can be off any type as
Written communication
Oral communication
Gestural communication
coordination
There should coordination between the employees and the departments to ensure the smooth running of the organization. If there is a lack of coordination between the employees or between any departments, it will certainly decrease the organization level and its popularity among the industrial sector.
Environment
The organization should concentrate on the following environments to get the job done
Economic environment
Social environment
Political environment
Legal environment
Technological environment
Rules and regulations
Rules and regulations must be clearly defined by the management for the proper functioning of the organization. If the rules are set clear, then there is no chance for the error and each one of the organization should be directed to follow the rules and regulations.
Let us now see in brief about the features of the organization.
Features of an organization
Objective
The objective should be set and stated clearly. Every employee of the organization should concentrate on the common objective of the organization. Within the organization, each department will have a separate objective and these objectives should relate to the organization's common objective.
Control
The span of control should be properly designed. The span of control is that allocating the subordinates to the supervisor. It should be allocated in such a way, that the supervisor should be allocated with the minimum number of subordinates so as to make the job done in a efficient manner.
Command
The command should be given to the employees from his / her superior and not from more than one person. If the employee receives the command from more than one person, then employee will be in a confused state as to which command he should act or react to. So, it should be clearly stated by the management of the organization about the span of control.
Flexibility
The organization structure should be flexible which will be a boost to the employee in that organization and the delegation of authority should also be flexible. If the organization follows the flexible type environment, then the employee will be in a condition to love to work.
