Here I describe about the profile of Sania Mirza, and her achievements in his career. She has given a good start in her career and at the same time she has faced many controversies in her life including wearing short skirts which are against muslim community. How did Sania Mirza reached the London 2012 Olympics



Sania Mirza was born on 15th November 1986, Bombay and she is good tennis player by profession. Her career began in 2003 and she has played her tennis profession with great spirit and enthusiasm and she had made good wonderful strokes in ground. She again got the Grand slam award to the two events at 2008 Australian open and Roland Garros which was held in 2011. She won mixed doubts event and women's doubles event. The Indian government awarded arjuna award in 2004 and she got Padma shri in 2006. As a tennis player she is only Indian to get into top 30 WTA rankings and she has got good achievements as a tennis player. Economic Times listed Sania Mirza in the womens who have made India proud one. In 2009 Sania was the most searched sports player and she was listed in the Asia's top 50 heros which was produced by Times Magazine.

Earlier life


The parents of Sania is Imran Mirza who was a sports journalist and her mother is Nasima from Maharashtra. Sania Mirza was brought up in Hyderabad, which is having religious background. She began playing tennis at the age of six and she started her career in 2003. Her father trained Sania and she did his schooling in NASR school and later she did her college life at St. Mary's Collge. Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik is the husband of Sania MIrza. She received her doctor of letters, Honorary degree from the MGR Educational and Research Institute University from Chennai university on 12.11.2008.

Her personal life


Earlier Sania Mirza was engaged to her childhood friend Sohrab Mirza, but her engagement was called early. Then she dated Faizan Udyawar, who is a businessman and she had an affair with this person for six months. Later she had an Interest to marry a sportsperson and after seeing Shoaib Malik, she married the Pakistan cricketer

Her Professional Career


Sania Mirza is having highest rank from tennis world and she is the only Indian to get a rank of 27 in singles and a rank of 7 in doubles. In grand slam tournament she is the third Indian women to participate in this tournament. Earlier Nirupama Vaidyanathan grabbed the title at 1998 Australian Open and Shikha Uberoi at 2004 US Open. Sania Mirza is the first Indian women to win a Grand slam tournament and first Indian to win a WTA Title. In her junior career she won 10 singles and 13 doubles in her career. She won the 2003 Wimbledon Championships doubles title with Alisa Kleybanova. Sania Mirza reached the semifinals of 2003 French Open Girl's doubles with Sanaa Bhambri. She also reached quarterfinals of 2002 US Open Girl's Doubles with Isha Lakshmi.
In 2001 Sania Mirza made debut at ITF which was conducted in Chandigarh and she defeated Geeta Manohar in the first round and she failed against Karen Paterson in the second round . She also played a match at pune and she defeated Kamini Murugaboopathy, Jyotsna Vasisht, but she failed to Sai Jayalakshmy Jayaram in the quarter finals. Sania reached the semifinals event which was conducted in New Delhi and she didn't failed a single set and she defeated Radhika Mandke, Geeta Manohar, but she failed to great champion Rushmi Chakravarthi.
She got huge fan in India and she is only few young women who has highest level of sport. An American player watched the performance of sania and he told that she is having a natural way of hitting the ball and these qualities makes her career more bright.

Career Achievements



  • 2005 US Open:
    She reached fourth round by defeating Marion Bartoli, France and she was voted as the best player on third play, but in the second round her toe was bleeded, but she won the match.

  • 2005 Forest Hills Women's Tennis Classic, New York:
    She entered the WTA second round, but she fails to win the title.

  • 2005 Acura Classic:
    By defeating 8th rank Petrova, She entered into the top 50 rankings in first time of history.

  • 2005 Hyderabad Open singles
    She defeated Alyona Bondarenko and it was first Indian women to get a WTA title.

  • Australian Open singles:
    She entered into third round of Grand slam tournament.

  • 2004 Hyderabad Open doubles:
    She won the tournament and became the youngest Indian to win a WTA tour title.

  • 2003 Junior Wimbledon Championships doubles:
    She won the tournament and became the youngest Indian women to win a junior Grand slam title.
