Some important tips for students appearing in AIEEE
In this article I am going to give some vital information and tips regarding All India Engineering Entrance Examination or AIEEE. It is a very important examination for students to get admission in engineering colleges. This year on 29th April, this AIEEE entrance is going to take place. It is very important to keep your head cool during examination. You will get necessary tips here. Check this resource.
Introduction to AIEEE:
AIEEE is a prestigious entrance examination. It is next to IITJEE in dignity. Maximum numbers of students take part in this entrance. Around 12 lakh students are going to appear in AIEEE this year. There are total 1600 examination centers in the 80 cities around the country.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is conducting the entrance examination.
AIEEE is the gate of entrance for admission to 30 NIT's and four Institute of Information Technology (IIT) and Hariyana, Uttara Khand, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi Technology University (DTU), Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (Bhubaneshwer), Indian Institute of Carpet Technology (UP) and many more institutes of engineering and technology. All the institutes are approved by AICTE.
Mode of examination in AIEEE:
Besides the pen/pencil and paper based exam, AIEEE can be given online also. But this facility is not available for everyone. Approximate one lakh students over the country get this online entrance facility on "First Come First Serve" basis. But deliberation has shown that student's interest in pen/paper system is grater than the online system. The main reason behind this may be mental immaturity according to age. Most experts say this.
In AIEEE exam, there are two papers. The first one is for admission to B.E/B.Tech course and the second is for admission to B.Arch/B.Planning. Both the papers are of three hours duration. Students can participate in any one or both the papers.
a) B.E/B.Tech question paper:
Here are questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Three subjects are given equal importance in the examination.
b) B.Arch/B.Planning question paper:
In this paper contains questions from drawing, aptitude and maths. Both the papers are of MCQ type questions. Students can choose from any one from Biotechnology/ Computer Science/ Biology instead of chemistry. Less than one minute per question is allowed.
c) Negative marking in AIEEE:
There is negative marking in AIEEE exam. For every four wrong answers, one mark is deducted. Besides this, as there are more than one option for every question, if a student spot more than one option, it would be a wrong answer. So, if you do not know the answer, simply skip the question and attempt the next one. AIEEE answer-scripts are mechanically prepared. Ball point pen or pencil should be used to spot the answers.
As I said before, AIEEE examination is purely objective type. If you follow previous years question paper, you can see that there are approx 100-125 questions in all the three subjects. So, this system is prepared mainly to eliminate. You can easily expect admission in any of the three NIT's if you secure 50-55% marks. As per previous year, there was cut-off marking in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. But it is expected to change this year.
Must to do things in AIEEE entrance:
1)At first, place your admit card and writing things on the table.
2)After getting the question paper, go through it attentively.
3)Red pen is strictly avoidable.
4)Examinee's watch time and exam centers watch time should be same.
5)First, solve the easy questions rapidly and correctly.
6)It is not best to solve more than one question at a time. You should solve one question at a time.
7)To avoid negative marking, you should try to solve only those questions which you have the confidence.
Important information regarding AIEEE:
As per Ministry of Human Resources Development, govt. of India decision, to get admission in the NIT's 50% of the total seats are filled by the successful AIEEE participants of the respective state. And the rest of the seats are filled from common merit list.
But how the students of other states would know which subjects are taught at the 30 NI's of the country? How many seats are there? What is the procedure for counseling in these institutes?
You can get all the answers at the AIEEE govt. website aiee.nic.in The Central Counseling Board is in the responsibility of counseling after exam. Online counseling is done.
