Right approach for interview
The interview is not a mere question and answer session which is meant to test your knowledge in a particular subject or discipline. The interviewer will be assessing, not merely the level of your knowledge but your personality traits or leadership qualities from your responses, reactions and replies. In the interview, by and large, for most of the questions there may be no such thing as the correct or the right answer.
The board or the interviewer will be more interested in your views, comments and the manner in which you put across or present them. In all job interviews, the selectors are interested to find out about your personality or leadership ability.The candidate should know what the leadership ability or personality concept implies in the context of this interview.
Leadership concept covers the following aspects :
(a) Intelligence:
Ability to grasp, perceive and understand the meaning of the question and its implications. Whether the candidate is sharp, is quick on the uptake, can he discern the problem.
(b) Organizational competence:
Ability to mobilize the resources and use them to optimum advantage, determining priorities, evolving methods, systems, procedures, saving time, avoiding confusion, delegation and control. In other words, doing the job efficiently and punctually.
(c) Dynamic qualities:
Liveliness, keenness, urge, enthusiasm, initiative, self-confidence, determination, commitments, resoluteness, dedication, stamina, enterprise, utilisation of opportunities and so forth.
(d) Social attributes:
Adaptability, capacity to mix with strangers and members of opposite sex, warmth, sincerity, outgoing nature, readiness to help, understand and sympathies, friendship, loyalty, consideration and duty before self, which help the individual to function successfully in any social surrounding.
(e) Influencing ability:
Capacity to motivate others, ability to provide acceptable leadership to others, set examples, use tact, persuade, convince and win others to your way of thinking. Sell yourself and your ideas. Your Ability to influence others favorably and positively.
Avoid Nervousness
Nervousness is a common feature in those appearing for interviews, but once you root out the causes of nervousness, you feel confident in facing the interview. if study, one can finds that this nervousness is comes from ignorance and fear as of what would happen if I fail to pass.
Winning strategy
For positive results in interview, you have to impress interview panel with your in-depth study of your discipline and manners of your opinion presentation. Interviewer tests your devotion and dedication toward the work, show them your capabilities of working even under worse condition. Give your opinion carefully and confidently on subject asked to you.
Research through your subjects of specialization and what you learn about it, prepare brief resume which can give clear idea of your ability and achievements to the interview panel. Be clean shaved, dress up with neat and clean formals, probably shirt, trouser and necktie if needed.
Always carry a pleasant smile on your lips it helps a lot in making you friendly to people of your surroundings. Be calm, relaxed, and active at the time of interview. Approach to the table with grace and confidence. Avoid any confusion, use simple language for conversation. Remember that your overall appearance, manners, way of self-presentation, is taken into consideration for the valuation.
