COMBINED ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (CEE-2008)
For Admission to Bachelor of Engineering Courses for Delhi Region (85% Quota) Only
The University of Delhi will hold a Combined Entrance Examination (CEE) for admission to First Semester of Bachelor of Engineering Courses for the session 2008-09 for DELHI REGION candidates passing from Schools/ Colleges/ Institutes located within the National Capital Territory of Delhi, in Delhi College of Engineering (DCE) and Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT) on Saturday, the 31st May, 2008.
Minimum Eligibility : The candidates having Indian nationality should have passed Senior School Certificate Examination from the recognised School/ College/ Institute located within the National Capital Territory of Delhi or any other examination recognised as equivalent there to by the University of Delhi securing 60% or more marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (50% or more marks for candidates belonging to SC/ ST category, 55% or more marks for candidates belonging to CW (Defence)/ Physically Handicapped category). The candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for the CEE-2008.
Minimum Age: 17 years on or before 1st October, 2008.
i) Reservation of Seats : 15% seats for Scheduled Castes and 7.5% seats for Scheduled Tribes,
ii) 5% seats for Children/ Widows of Personnel of Armed/ Para Military Forces killed/ disabled in action during hostilities (CW).
iii) 3% seats for Physically Handicapped (1 % for persons with low vision or blindness, 1 % for hearing impaired, 1% for those with loco-motor disabilities and/ or cerebral palsy),
iv) Reservation of other Backward classes (OBC) candidates as per directive/ approval of the competent authority.
Note : All candidates (viz covered under General/ SC/ ST/ CW/ PH Category) will be required to appear in the Combined Entrance Examination CEE-2008.
Examination : The Combined Entrance Examination consists of objective type questions in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (Combined).
Application Form
a) Bulletin of Information for CEE-2008 for Delhi Region Only :
The Bulletin of Information containing further details, prescribed application form and syllabi for CEE-2008 can be obtained from the sale counter of the (1) Faculty of Technology, (Delhi University), Room No. HCFF-13, First Floor (Health Centre), Delhi college of Engineering (New Campus), Bawana Road, Delhi-110042, (2) Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology. Sector-3, Dwarka, Papankalan, New Delhi-110045 on submission of Pay Order/ Demand Draft drawn on any Bank of Rs. 400/- (inclusive of examination fee) on working days from Monday to Friday between 10:00 am to 4:00 pm (lunch 01:00 pm. to 01:30 pm.)
(b) The application form can also be downloaded from www.dce.ac.in, www.nsit.ac.in, www.du.ac.in. The downloaded form should be accompanied by a Demand Draft of Rs. 400/- in favour of the "Registrar, Delhi University, Delhi."
c) The Bulletin of Information can also be obtained by post by sending a Pay Order/ Demand Draft drawn on any bank of Rs 475/- (Inclusive of examination fee and postal charges). The request for supply of Bulletin of Information by post should be sent to The Dean, Faculty of Technology, (Delhi University), Room No. HCFF-13, First Floor (Health Centre), Delhi College of Engineering (New Campus), Bawana Road, Delhi-110042 along with two self addressed slips.
The Demand Draft/ Pay Order should be in favour of the REGISTRAR, DELHI UNIVERSITY, DELHI. Please write your name, address and telephone number (if any) at the back of the Demand Draft/ Pay Order.
Important Dates
i) Sale of Bulletin of Information w.e.f. 14.03.2008 to 16.04.2008.
ii) Last date for receipt of request for supply of Bulletin by post 03.04.2008.
iii) Last date for receipt of completed application form 16.04.2008 (5:30 pm.)
Date of CEE: Saturday, the 31st May, 2008
The University will not be responsible for any postal delay.
Notes : Centers of examination are located in the National Capital Territory of Delhi only. The completed application form should be sent to the Dean, Faculty of Technology, (Delhi University), Room No. HCFF-13, First Floor (Health Centre), Delhi College of Engineering (New Campus), Bawana Road, Delhi-110042.
