The healing power in tulsi and its medicinal properties

In this resource I am willing to share some of the useful information about the most powerful plant tulsi. Tulsi leaves is used in daily basis in Hindu religion and its medicinal properties are used in many tablets to cure many common and rare diseases.



 

Introduction


Tulsi is also called as holy basil. Tulsi has many anti viral and anti bacterial properties. Tulsi is considered as a holy herb in India as well as through out the world. Tulsi leaf has more medicinal properties which cure many diseases like cough, cold, fever, dry throat, even it controls blood sugar and blood pressure. The research in tulsi gives more and more information about the leaves and plant. The ancient herbs are now recalled by the researchers to get the most magical chemical compounds and how these compounds can be used to cure many diseases. The most popularly used types are, rama tulsi and shyam tulsi. Commonly used type is rama tulsi for both as a medicine and worshipping process. Tulsi is rich in anti oxidants and it has more benefits like improvement in stamina and immunity which is lacking in our generation. Most of the children eat capsules to improve memory power, immunity and strength. Tulsi has all these powers when it is eaten daily by all the age groups.

The healing power in tulsi for various diseases


Tulsi is helpful in relieving the diseases like respiratory diseases, stress, skin disorders, indigestion etc. Tulsi tea is used to relieve cough, cold and fever. To lower the temperature, the juice of tulsi leaves are used. When the fever is very high, the extract of tulsi leaves should be given in regular intervals. To get quick relief from cough and cold the leaves of tulsi should chewed or it is better to have a strong tulsi juice.

The holy basil in sore throat and headaches


The holy basil should be boiled with hot water is good for sore throat or the water can be used for the gargling purpose to get quick relief. Tulsi decoction can be given for headaches and body pain. The tulsi leaves mixed with sandalwood powder can be applied on forehead to get cooling relief and it reduces heat in the body.

Eye, teeth and skin disorders


Applying tulsi juice on the infected areas on the skin is beneficial in fast relief. The skin disorders like allergy can be cured by following this remedy. When the toxins are stored inside the body it reflects in skin also that leads to skin disorders so it very important to prevent toxins. Tulsi leaves are more effective in removing toxins in our body. The known fact about tulsi is, it is used in herbal toothpaste as an important ingredient. The ayurvedic medicine for any tooth ache has this herbal leaf mixed in it. The grinded dried leaf of tulsi is used as a tooth powder to make a healthy mouth for a long time. This powder can be mixed with mustard oil to make a great blend of herbal product for healthy teeth. This tooth paste helps in making a tooth free from germs, bad breath and healthy gums. The tulsi leaves can be eaten directly to avoid mouth infections. Tulsi juice helps in night blindness and dry eyes.

The health benefits of tulsi leaves and its juice


The benefit of chewing tulsi leaves and its juice reduces many diseases like reducing cholesterol that prevents heart attack, The juice of tulsi leaves prevents from kidney stones, The juice of tulsi leaves can be applied in the affected region of the insect bites to reduce the pain and it has a healing power too. When the tulsi leaves are eaten it boosts the efficient use of oxygen all over the body that reduces the respiratory diseases and enhances blood circulation. The important benefit of tulsi is it supports healthy digestive system. The best herbal medicine is tulsi leaves and that it not costly and not a very rare leaf, take the gift, given by the nature and lead a healthy life without tablets.

Tulsi is an Indian herbal which has many medicinal powers and because of that only our elders used to place a 'Tulsi plant' in front of their houses. Giving tulsi water as prasada in vishnu temples. Especially the vaishnavites observe fasting on the day of 'Ekadasi' and vaikunda Ekadasi' with a sirp of 'tulsi water' availed from the vishnu temples.
