My one year success story in IndiaStudyChannel

How I joined IndiaStudyChannel

It was quite sudden and this has happened all of a sudden and unexpecting as well. On the 11th of July 2011 when I happened to surf the net for some material collection, I was suddenly attracted very much towards an inspiring emblem showing the picture of a guru sitting under a tree and imparting knowledge to the sishyas. This was not only inspiring but also attractive as well, so I happened to stop for a while at this site about which I have absolutely no idea and I just went through some of the important pages of the site to get some fair idea about the site. After spending some time on reading about the site, I found it quite interesting and useful as well and I somehow felt that this is a wonderful educational portal of India which is helping the student community of the country.

My goal
Being very much inspired by Gandhian thoughts and principles, I always desire to do something to the needy of our society. Those who are really in need of some or the other kind of help, I want to extend a helping hand to such people. Moreover, myself being a teacher by profession, I would like to extend all possible help to the student community of our country in particular. I believe that students have the potential to bring about a change in the society for its betterment when they are inspired, motivated and encouraged in the right direction. IndiaStudyChannel is one such educational portal which not only provides an opportunity for our students to learn a lot but at the same time it is helpful as well as useful in providing good inspiration and motivation through its healthy Forum discussions on various topics of burning issues in the society where many elderly responsible members opine their views and thoughts and thus encourage the youngsters in guiding in a proper way. And this is what has prompted me to join the family of IndiaStudyChannel without any doubts cropping up about the genuineness / credibility / authentication of the site. My main intention was to help the Indian society in whatever manner I can and I found that my views and thoughts can reach out to the people of the country through this educational portal. Sincerely speaking, I did not pay much attention to the earning part of the site as I am keen on doing something good to the student community and hence did not bother for the revenue generation. Thus, I immediately signed up myself with IndiaStudyChannel on the very same day that is on the 11 of July 2011 and became the bronze member of the site. And I felt that my goal of reaching out to others will be achieved through ISC.

How I went ahead in my journey through ISC

After I joined ISC, I started contributing and participating actively in some sections of my interest. The very first week of my joining the site, I participated quite actively in various Forum discussions and got appreciations for some of my responses. I even contributed few articles in the Resource section, as I love article writing so to say I have a passion for writing articles. And to my surprise, my active participation in the first week has brought me the Member of The Week award for the period from 11th July to 17th 2011 and this has boosted up my participation in the site and encouraged me contribute much more in the various sections of the site. Thus I was quite active in site and was actively participating in the Resource contests as well. Hardly a month after I joined the site, I participated in the Independence Day speech contest and contributed the article - A speech on Indian Independence Day. And this article of mine has been judged as one of the best speeches and I was in the winners list when the announcement was made. This is another big surprise for me which further gave me the spirit to write many more articles and I was ongoing with my participation. To be frank, I never anticipated anything in return and was never keen on my revenue generation, rather I was participating as actively as I can when there was a creative poetry writing contest on ISC.

I tried my best to write a poem on ISC and thus I penned the poem An ode to IndiaStudyChannel. This poem of mine not only got much appreciation from my fellow members but to my real surprise once again my name was listed out in the winners list of the creative poetry writing contest. Just imagine my feelings, I really felt elevated by this kind of encouraging from ISC and started doing my best to the site with complete dedication and full involvement. It was the month of December 2011, when I was really overjoyed to see my name as the Member of the month for November 2011. My joy knew no bounds on receiving this prestigious award and each time I was receiving the award, the child in me was waking up and I was sharing this happy news with my dear husband and was eagerly waiting for a pat from him like a small school kid. Such a feeling is something beyond description. However, I am happy to share the same with my fellow members of the site.

Months were passing by and my participation in the site was quite active and smooth as well with good number of contributions to my credit. I was as actively participating the Resource contests as before and in the month of mid of January 2012, there was a Resource contest on Valentine's day gift ideas as well as Valentine's day poem contest. I have participated in these two contests very enthusiastically as I adore my dear husband and I got this opportunity to show my love to him. My joy knew no bounds when I happen to see the announcement of the winners for these two contests - the reason - my article on Perfect Valentine's day gift ideas for your husband gave me a chance to top the winner list and my article was adjudged the best entry. And I felt this as a real Valentine's day gift for my dear husband who is not only my husband but is more than that - a true friend, a perfect guide, a good supporter and many more.

Next in the row within a few days after the above mentioned award, once again I was thrilled when my entry for the Valentine's day poem contest was adjudged the best by the fellow members who voted for the same and thus my poem - My husband - my eternal Valentine gave me a chance to prove my writing capabilities and I topped the winners list of the poetry contest. And by this time my name became quite familiar in the site and even I was a bit used to see my name mostly in the winners list in many more other contests. The other contests which fetched me awards are:

My contributions to ISC

As mentioned earlier, I am a passionate writer and hence I am very much attracted towards the Resource section. Though in the beginning I contributed many articles but presently my contribution to this section has slowed down due to some personal reasons. So far I have 77 approved resources to my credit. Besides this lucrative section of ISC, I am also very particular about helping others and extend my help to people in the best possible ways be it online or offline. In this site, Ask Experts sections is a platform where members need proper guidance from other experts and seek their guidance / counselling. Hence I have been an active contributor to this section as well and till date I have 170 posts / answers to my credit in the Ask Experts section. I am quite happy that many of my answers got appreciations from the editors of the section and this gave me immense satisfaction as I could be of some help to others. What else can make me happy and satisfied than helping others and making others happy.

Next to these two sections, as I am much interested in discussing or sharing knowledge on various interesting and informative topics, I keep participating and contributing in the Forum discussions as well. And I have even contributed to some extent in the Jobs sections as it would be useful for the job seekers. In a similar way, I have few posts in Links section, Bookmarks section, Polls sections, Reviews sections and Updates / Corrections as well to my credit.

A small yet serious bitter experience in ISC

Yes, I too had faced a bitter experience in ISC like some of the members of the site. As mentioned earlier, I am a passionate writer and love to write articles on niche topics. In the end of the last year, two of my self-written articles were rejected one after the other with the reason that these were reproduced in other sites and my posting rights in the Resource section was restricted. This was a shock for me and I immediately requested the resource editors for restoring my posting rights in the said section and I proved myself that the two articles were self written ones and I absolutely have no idea how these were copied in other sites. The then Resource editor Ankit Sinha was very kind and considerate to listen to my request and restored my posting rights in the Resource section.

This experience really made me very cautious while posting articles / contents and I felt that this is for my good only as it gave me chance for improving myself and thus made me aware of being careful each and every time I post content in ISC. In fact, I really learnt a lesson from this experience and am very much thankful to ISC for letting me know how to be cautious while posting content in the internet.

What I learnt / gained from IndiaStudyChannel

As mentioned in my poem IndiaStudyChannel is a knowledge tree where every member learns something or the other. So also I too learnt few things from this wonderful educational portal. Myself being a Post Graduate in English, I don't have much of technical knowledge and in the beginning found it difficult to use clickable links. And this post of the Webmaster in the help topics has really helped me understanding it better and thereafter, I found it so easy to post clickable links in my articles as well as Forum threads and responses. And as you all know use of clickable links is very useful in the web world. At the same time I even learnt use of HTML tags only after joining this site and now I don't find it difficult in using the same.

The most important thing in life is money as you all know and of course applying for Google Ad Sense account through this site was quite useful for me and my account got approved after I reapplied for the same on its rejection. And here I would like to make a special mention of Lead editor Ankit Sinha who has excellent knowledge of Ad Sense and is ever helpful to the members in clarifying various doubts on Ad Sense related queries. I too happen to learn many things about Ad Sense from Ankit Sinha and I feel still there is much more to learn about this. Besides these, I even learnt the use of Statcounter from the posts of Webmaster Tony John and this I found very useful in tracking the traffic / Ad Sense clicks of our resources. And here also I do need to learn much more, which I think I can learn sometime later.

And I would like make a special mention that I have gained a good number of friends through this site who are ever friendly, helpful as well as jovial. And we all members feel like one big family the members of which are unknown yet known to each other. And I am grateful to ISC for providing such a wonderful platform to its members when they can discuss on very issues / topics and freely opine their views and thoughts. And the important important thing that I gained from this site is of course, the cash credits which are very lucrative to all. I am a home-maker and a mother of a 2 year 8 months old daughter and I am able to get a decent earning for my contribution to this site sitting at my home and doing work at my convenient hours. I this really great.

And the greatest thing I gained here in ISC is being placed in the editorial panel. I really felt great on being a member of the editorial panel and at this juncture I would like to mention a special note of thanks to Ms Vandana - the Managing Editor and Webmaster Tony who were considerate to include my name in the list of ISC editors.

My earnings in ISC and the way I spend it

In this one year membership in IndiaStudyChannel, I have earned a decent amount nearly 7000 INR and as I am earning this for my own work at my ease, I keep donating the amount I receive from ISC mainly to the benefit of orphans, street kids whose life is miserable, to the age old people who are spending miserable lives away from their kids and to the other needy. In this way, I spend my earnings through ISC for the well being of the under-privileged of the society and I feel a bit satisfied when I see a little ray of hope / happiness in their eyes on receiving this peanut help from me. And this is how I am using my earnings through ISC for the welfare of the society / well-being of the poor and needy. I haven't yet reached the target of payment from Ad Sense, but I have planned to use this amount as well for the needy particularly for the street kids in providing them some educational related help either by sending them to nearby schools or by sponsoring any one of them if permitting my budget. And for this charitable act of mine I am really thankful to ISC for providing me this wonderful opportunity to earn and learn as well.

A message

I feel that without anticipating any returns if we do our best with sincerity and dedication, we are sure to get good returns. Keep participating in the Resource contests and contribute articles for the same as the Resource contests are very helpful in bringing traffic to your articles as these are based on keyword activities. And do not get disappointed and do not stop your participation in the Resource contests. The more you participate in the Resource contests the more you will learn on how to present your article well and over a period of time this will fetch you good points and cash credits besides driving good traffic to your articles. And one fine day you are sure to be a winner / one of the winners of the contests. All you need is a bit of patience
