The Innovator from Assam, Uddhab Bharali, selected for prestigious NASA Technology Award.
The NASA Technology Award is being conducted every year and for the current year, 2012. Innovator, Uddhab Bharali lives nearby the banks of river Brahmaputra in North Lakshimpur of the State Assam, India. As Uddhab Bharali is being selected for the NASA Technology Award – 2012, following article just gives you a flashlight of his dedication towards new technology experiments. Mr. Uddhab Bharali Introduction:
The one line Introduction of Mr. Uddhab Bharali is that he is the only man who is works as an INNOVATOR for his living. Uddhab Bharali is a farmer living in Assam and up till today he has invented above 85 engineering devices related to agriculture industry in India. At present only 13 of the 85 engineering devices are being commercialized and are available in market. Mr. Uddhab Bharali also helped the local industries and the communities so as to modify or create the necessary changes in their existing machine setup. He once said that developing such new machines was the need of time and money.
The first invention Uddhab Bharali made was the setup of an Industry where polythene film was manufactured for surrounding tea estates. The ready made machines price for production of polythene film was above Rs. 4 Lakhs and they were being imported from outside India during the year 1988. So Uddhab Bharali developed the same polythene film mechanized plant unit at a cost of only Rs. 67,000/- only. It was interesting to know that while he was inventing this polythene film producing machine there was a debt on his father and this invention has cleared all the debts on his family. Loan amount on his family was near about 18 Lakhs in the year 1988.
After clearing the debt, Mr. Uddhab Bharali also worked in maintenance department of a Hydropower project in Arunachal Pradesh which is one of the 28 States of India.
Uddhab Bharali's Invention noticed by NASA :
The pomegranate is a fruit which requires our hands to de- seed the inner part of it. As the juice of pomegranate is acidic and it stains our hands and at times our clothes, it is a nasty job to cut and eat the fruit. Hence, knowing the exact cause and qualities of pomegranate, Uddhab Bharali has invented a machine which can de-seed the pomegranate fruit. The machine invented by him needs less electricity and the pomegranate can be put in the machine without cutting. Using the machine designed by Uddhab Bharali we can de-seed 50 to 55 KG of pomegranate per hour. Right now the product, mini pomegranate de-seeder, is a hit in the Turkey and United State of America.
