Goa come with unique beauty along with its more traditional flavor during monsoon time from June to September. During this time nature flourishes, the rain brings refreshment and romance. To experience the local Goan way of Goa just Travel to Goa during the monsoon and enjoy the way Goa made you crazy. In this article Goa's as monsoon tourist and its major attraction is brought into focus.
Goa is India's most liberated and smallest state. It was a colony of Portugal up until 1961, and still today one can experience a strong Portuguese influence all over Goa. Goa is said to emerged as major
tourist spot in India during monsoon season.
However Goa come with unique nature's beauty in very traditional way during monsoon time i.e.June to September. During this time nature flourishes, the rain brings a lively, fresh and romantic environment. To experience the local Goan way of Goa just move to Goa for holidays during the monsoon and enjoy the way Goa made you crazy.
Goa's monsoon attractions
Goa's have many wildlife sanctuaries which are open all year round. The major ones are
Mollem National Park
along with the exclusive Dudhsagar Falls which is located at the extreme of the Mollem National Park. This waterfall looks amazing in monsoon as the water falls down from a great height. Another is Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary. They are difficult to reach than
Bondla
which is the smallest and perhaps most accessible sanctuary in Goa. Bondla has a small zoo and deer safari park, which is amazing for kids. Another great place to visit during the monsoon in Goa is the definitely
spice plantation in Savio
. One can reach there by covering a drive through hills and dense jungles along Ponda. An evening boat is enjoyable which cruises up from Panaji in the Mandovi River. Apart from all these one can even experience the fishing and see historical old buildings in Goa.
Monsoon Festivals in Goa
One of the best reasons one can choose to visit Goa during the monsoon is the vibrant festivals that take place. The most popular festival, Sao joao (the fertility feast of Saint John the Baptist), is celebrated with great enthusiasm in late June. This festival involves the interesting event in which men jumps into overflowing village wells so as to prepare bottles containing local feni alcohol. The another feast of Saints Peter and Paul that held at the end of June involves people sailing in river on their rafts along with plays and songs performing. In late August, on tiny Divar Island which is located off the coast from Panaji associated with the carnival-like

Goa Monsoon Hotels

Goa Monsoon Restaurants
Restaurants which are not located on the beach generally stay open during the monsoon period. Lloyd's in Calangute (after the chapel, on the Candolim Main Road) is the place one must be there on a stormy monsoon evening. It provides delicious goan home made food and is available through the night. The atmosphere is filled with friendly and entertainment triumph all over, with many people going by and dropping in. Britto'son Baga Beacch is very popular for seafood.
Goa monsoon nightlife
Goa is renowned for nightlife during the monsoon. The Mambo's and Tito's at Baga Beach both work best all year round. The Goa Marriott's designer bar known as Ozone, is one of the best choice for those looking for somewhere more up market in Panaji. Tease at Taj Vivanta also has awesome DJs. One may check out the bar at the park hotel in Calangute as well. Lava Lounge (near the Chicalim petrol pump) is another good option. Near Baga Beach there is nice live musicians which can be enjoyed. This place includes an older crowd and every saturday night there's live rock & roll.
Getting to Goa
Goa is very well connected with the rest of India by air, bus and train. However, the bus can be uncomfortable and slow so train is a best option . In less than 10 hours train, theKonkankanya Express on the Konkan Railway can cover the distance from Mumbai to Goa. Goa's main train station, Margao (Madgaon) is stoppage of most of the train.
