How to prepare for coming assistant grade examination of FCI

Separate post- separate exam The FCI has asked for separate qualifications for separate posts of assistant grade-3 general, accounts, and depot and for the technical posts. Whereas for general, any graduate is eligible, for accounts, B Com and for technical, agriculture or graduate in science stream is imperative. But along with the degree of graduation, computer knowledge is essential for all the posts. The maximum age limit for this post is 27 years fixed. Candidates hailing from the reservation category would be getting relaxations in accordance with the rules framed for them.
Scheme of examination of FCI assistant grade First of all, CPT i.e. computer proficiency test for assistant grade would be held. It would necessary to qualify for this post. In this test, questions relating to word processor and excel would be would be asked. After being successful in CPT, a written test of objective type will be conducted. This will comprise of three papers. - The first paper will be related to general knowledge, English language, numerical aptitude and general awareness.
- The second paper would consist of questions relating to the quantitative method and English language.
- The third paper will consist of biological science.
1/4the marks would be deducted from the wrong questions given. The questions asked would be of the standard of degree and 12th. The third paper is compulsory only for the technical posts. You can log on to the commission’s website for more details.
Syllabus Scan Under the general awareness and logic, nonverbal type of questions is asked from:
- Relationship concept,
- Similarity and dissimilarity,
- Solution to problems,
- Valuation,
- Decision making,
- Classification of pictures,
- coding and decoding, combination of sentences.
In general awareness section, questions are asked from the following subjects:
- Current vent,
- Sports of India and its neighbouring nations,
- History,
- Culture,
- Geography,
- Politics,
- Scientific research,
- Indian constitution etc.
Under the numerical aptitude section the questions asked are as follows:
Time and distance,
- Mensuration,
- Number System,
- Decimal system,
- Percentage,
- Ratio and proportions,
- Average interest,
- Profit and loss, etc.
General awareness General awareness is very important in this examination. A total of 50 questions are asked from this section. A little labour can fetch you a higher score. It’d be better had you do the regular studies of the national, international , economic, sports activities and awards, personalities recently in news, places, important dates and events with the help of standard local and national dailies, magazines and journals. Enhance your knowledge with the help of unique guide, NCERT books pertaining to Indian history, culture, administrative system, geography, economy etc. Read a national daily of renown everyday to keep updated with the current Developments obtaining in the arena of the country and the world. Listen to the daily broadcasts of news bulletins on Radio and TV. Note down the important events during listening and reading. Such types of notes come handy at the time of examination.
Wrap Make a different strategy. Time management is important in the objective type of questions. This is not possible in a day. Practicing is important for this. It’d be better for you to be practicing on answering questions within the limited time frame. This will help you ward off quandary in the examination hall. Smart strategy is that first you solve those questions you are sure of their answers. It has often been seen students embroil themselves in the initial stages in hard questions wasting their examination hall’s precious time down the drain. Avoid such a precarious scenario at any rate. Solve maximum of questions based on logical force.

Only those candidates who cleared Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be called for the CPT. Paper 3 is only for those who applied for Technical cadre and it will be on the same date when other are taking Paper 2. Paper 1 will be on November 11 and Paper 2 will be in January as tentatively notified by FC
