IIT-JEE is perhaps the most competitive exam in the world, because 6 to 7 lakh students give this exam each year and only few thousands gets selected in those premier institutes of India. What is IIT-JEE?
Before starting our preparation for IIT-JEE we should know exactly what is IIT-JEE? IIT-JEE stands for Indian Institutes of Technology-Joint Entrance Examination. It is the exam conducted by one of seven IITs each year for giving admission to students to their engineering degree courses in various disciplines. Every student in 12th standard can give this exam with aim to get admission in one of these reputed institutes. Getting admission in IIT means you are best and it indicates that you are hardworking and talented student. Other institutes are also accepting students based on their IIT-JEE score since past few years. So it is definite that it is your way to best in Engineering career and you will get best in your industry in terms of salary and other things. In general, IIT-JEE exam is completely based on the Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry and somewhat vast than what you study for your 12th biard exam. You have to refer CBSE, NCERT books of above mentioned three subjects.
Question paper format:
There will two papers of duration three hours each. The first part of paper will consist of Multiple Choice Questions from the Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. The second paper will have three parts: Mathematics, Aptitude and Drawing. Both papers will have objective type questions and there will be negative marking for each wrong answer. The first paper is for the students who are seeking admissions to B.Tech courses and second paper is for the students who are seeking admissions to B.Arch courses.

Make your own plan:
There might be or might not be coaching institute for you, but you have to make your plan according to time remaining. Best time to start preparing for this exam is while you are in 11th standard and in this time you can study all the subjects along with your regular subjects. There is no much difference between board syllabus and JEE main syllabus but you should see beyond the limits. Make perfect time table for you and strictly follow it. Leave all other things for these two years to do all the things in your whole life.
Get hard copy of JEE mains syllabus:
You should have the hard copy of JEE syllabus so that you can study according to the syllabus. Having syllabus with you will be helpful in two ways: First you will not be distracted beyond the scope and secondly it will help to measure your progress.
Get coaching from reputed institute:
From the time being this exam is getting very competitive and you must take extra effort to crack it. Choosing reputed institute which will help you in your study is very important. Always check the previous years results of institute before taking admission and wasting your money.
Every competitive exam requires that you should be clear about your basic concepts. So while studying regularly try to understand the concept don't memorize it. Through understanding will avoid confusion while attempting objective type questions and it will also help you to solve the problems (which are important part of JEE mains exam) based on that concept.
List out formulas in every subject separately:
Formulas will be at the heart of solution to every numerical problem. So it is better to memorize all the formulas and make list of all the formulas subject-wise.
Solve previous years question papers and try give all India mock tests organized by various institutes:
If you want to be fluent in solving the question then this is very important. You must solve at least five previous years question papers and also give all India mock tests organized by various institutes to get familiar yourself with exam. While practicing previous years question papers try to understand the basic concept used to solve these question papers. You can note down concepts which are asked most of the times so that you can revise them in last days.
Try to learn short-cut methods for solving problems:
As this is exam with considerable number numerical questions you have to be prepared for it. Learn the short-cut methods for sovling problems and apply them appropriately.
These are things which should be followed to get maximum marks in JEE main exam. Think positively and have confidence in yourself. After this is not the only chance in the world but yes, it is worth to try with all your capabilities for this exam.
