The University has 3 campuses, main campus at Visakhapatnam, off campuses at Hyderabad and Bengaluru. The above seven B.Tech Engineering Courses are offered in all campuses. But Biotechnology course is offered only in Visakhapatnam branch and Aeronautical Engineering is offered only in Bengaluru branch.
Mode of Admission into undergraduate B.Tech Courses in Gitam University
Gitam University conducts an online computer based admission entrance test GAT undergraduate 4 year B.Tech Programs in its branches at Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Bengaluru campuses.
How to Apply Gitam University online computer based GAT Entance Test?
Candidates can apply GAT entrance through online. First download GAT information broucher from its University official site and read it carefully before you fill online Application form. Enter the details carefully before you fill in the application form. From the list of Centers given in the information broucher, candidates have to select a center which is convenient to write the GAT Entrance exam. Verify carefully the details before submitting the application form. Take a DD of Rs.1000 in any Nationalized Bank for Male candidates or Rs.600 for female candidates payable at Gitam University, Visakhapatnam. Take a print out of the filled in Application form, affix a photo, attach the DD towards the Application fee and send it by Registered or Speed post to the following Address:
Director-Admission, Gitam University, Gandhinagar Campus, Rushikonda, Visakhapatnam-530045, Andhra Pradesh.
Write the Application number on the back side of the DD. Take a second copy of your filled in Application form for your future reference. The filled in Application form along with DD should be received by Director of Admission on or before 29th of March 2013.
For admission into 4 year B.Tech programs candidates must pass Intermediate or 12th examination of Central/State Board or its equivalent either in 2012 or 2013 with a minimum pass percentage of 60% aggregate marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with First Class or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination in a single attempt. For B.Tech Biotechnology course, candidates must pass in the qualifying exam with 60% in aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology with First class or its equivalent grade in the qualifying exam in a single attempt. Students passing in the qualifying exam in 2011 and earlier are not eligible for GAT Test.
About GAT online Computer Based GAT Entance Test
The Test will be of Multiple Choice type (MCQ). All the questions will be given in English Medium only. The questions will be set from a large question bank and all the candidates will get different sets of questions with same difficulty level. Each question carries 3 marks and a wrong answer for a question will deduct a mark from the total marks of a candidate and for no answer for a question no marks received. On completion of online computer based test scored marks will be shown on the computer. Merit ranks of the candidates will be notified after 2 weeks after the completion of GAT-2013 test. Basing on the merit rank only candidates will be admitted into 4 year B.Tech courses. Central and all State Board first rank holders will be given admission into B.Tech Program directly without writing GAT Test.
Online slot booking system to appear for GAT Test
Candidates have to select test center, date and slot of their choice by using slot Booking system. Candidates will get a e-Hall Ticket by booking slot booking system. This booking system will be open from 5th April to 12th April.

Online Slot Booking: 5th April to 12th April
Download E-Hall tickets: 5th April onwards
Online GAT Test at different Test Centers: 17th April to 8th May 2013
Announcement of Results: 20th May 2013
