Admission in Orient Flight School
Orient Flight School is the aviation wing of the Hindustan Group of Institutions, a pioneering educational group at Chennai, offering a wide range of courses in Engineering, Management, Applied Sciences and Aviation. OFS was established at Pondicherry in 1994 and is approved by the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Government of India. The flight training at OFS meets international standards, in accordance with regulations of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Government of India.
Courses Offered:
Aircraft Maintenance Engg: (A.M.E – 3 years) Aeronautical Engg: (A.M.Ae.S.I –4 years)
A.M.E is the course approved by DGCA, Govt.of India includes Airframe and Engine and Radio Navigation. The Practical Training given at Orient Flight School and other Leading maintenance organizations like indamer, Airworks.
A.M.Ae.S.I is the course approved by Aeronautical Society of India this is an equivalent to B.E. Degree.
Eligibility:
For A.M.E. a pass in 10+2 with an aggregate of 50% marks in mathematics, physics and chemistry or a Diploma with 50% marks in related field.
For A.M.Ae.S.I a pass in 10+2 with 50% marks in the subjects mathematics, physics and chemistry .
For prospectus and application form send Rs.125/- by DD in favour of ‘HIET’ payable at Chennai.
Registration: Admission is open for students qualified to enroll for PPL/ CPL /MER. Applicants have to register themselves with the prescribed application at OFS, Chennai. All the students have to undergo an entrance exam.
ADMISSION PROCEDURE Admission Centers Admission takes place throughout the year. Interested students can download a copy of the application form from our website or contact our Head office at Chennai.Those who wish to do particular courses should check up their respective eligibility criteria pertaining to that course.
1. Application for admission to a course should be made only in the prescribed form, which will be issued along with the prospectus. 2. Application form duly filled in should be sent only to the Admission Office or handed over in person along with (a) Copy of the Mark Sheet of qualifying examination attested by the Gazetted Officer. (b) Prescribed check Fee. 3. Application, which are incomplete or not accompanied by the prescribed documents and registration fee, are liable for rejection. 4. The scrutiny committee will process the application and provisionally select the students on merit. 5. Shortlisted candidates for Pilot Training Program will have to attend an aptitude test. Final selection will be based on their marks in the qualifying examination, performance in the aptitude test. 6. Admission notices will be sent to the selected candidates intimating the dates on which they should report at the admission office with the original certificates,Marksheet of the qualifying examination & pass certificate ,Transfer Certificate ,Conduct Certificate ,6 Passport size colour photographs ,Medical Certificate (as per DGCA standards) ,Police Clearance Certificate
After scrutiny of the documents and payment of fees, candidates will be issued "Lettter of Admission" and they should report to the Deputy Director / Chief Flight Instructor of the Flight School at Pondicherry for joining the program.
