MERIT INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY
With humble pride we can admit that we are at the forefront of technological achievement - BIOTECH AND INFOTECH -and are playing a vital role to the well being of nations throughout the world. We are meeting not only the challenges of solving today's problems through team work and computer based tools but are also marching ahead in achieving and advancing in technological excellence for the future.
THE CAMPUS
The campus is located at the foot of the highest peak in Nilgiris -Doddabetta and is therefore rightly christened as the MERIT PARAMOUNT - The Temple of Education.
The campus consists of the Academic Blocks, Training Laboratories, Computer Labs, Faculty Chambers, Administrative Offices, Gym and Hostel Rooms for Boys & Girls.
THE COURSE
Unique - hand picked, carefully planned, growth oriented, high demand potential - courses at MERIT aim to produce well-rounded and adaptable graduates, scholars and researchers able to take up the challenges & opportunities of the 21 st century.
STRUCTURE OF THE COURSE
The course is for a duration of 4 years. In the 7th Semester there is Industrial training. Project Report will have to be submitted. The 8th Semester is totally for Project work, Seminars and Assignments.
ELIGIBILITY
10+2/ H.S.C./ Inter or equivalent with Mathematics / Biology. Physics, Chemistry completed or awaiting results. Under Graduates / Graduates are also eligible.
COURSE OPTIONS
Anyone of the following options has to be selected for the ENGINEERING TWINNING DEGREE Programmes with specialisation in the fields of :
GROUP - A
BIOTECHNOLOGY AND GENETIC ENGINEERING
BIOINFORMATICS & ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING.
GROUP - B
ELECTRICAL, ELECTRONICS & COMPUTER ENGINEERING
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, COMMUNICATION & SOFTWARE ENGINEERING
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND ROBOTIC ENGINEERING
VLSI & EMBEDDED SYSTEMS
DUAL DEGREE
In addition to the above, MERITORS can take up a dual degree ( optional at an additional cost) such as BBA, BBM, BCS, BCA and B.Sc., (IT) through Distance Education Programme offered by Alagappa University, UGC. Govt. of India
