Aliar dam is one place you can visit during the summers to have a refreshing wash in the cool waterfalls. But just watch out for some naughty monkeys that will flick your belongings if you are not careful.

How to get there?
Pollachi is a 45 min drive by car from Coimbatore airport. The roads and extremely good and you will enjoy the long drive. From Pollachi, it will take another 30 minutes to reach Aliyar Dam. There is parking space which will enable you to spend a lot of time enjoying the pristine location and refreshing waterfalls.
There are shops nearby incase you would like to have food. There is a toll gate with minimal charge.

Pollachi is an awesome place for tourism..You can take an exotic elephant ride at TOPSLIP,Take a tour of valparai hills,Go to meet the tribals at villages near kadambarai,Relax at munnar(which is also 3hrs from pollachi) and also go to temples like BALAJI,VELLAI VINAYAKAR TEMPLE..
This summer wouuld be the best season
