Following are some medical school interview tips:

1. Be enthusiastic about the school

Be positive about the medical school. You have to collect the information about that particular school. You can visit the medical school before going for interview, and you can collect the information by discussing with college students. Another way to collect the information is you can go through school's web site. On the web site you can get all the information needed.

2. Dress nicely

When you are going for medical school interview then your dressing must be professional. Men should wear a coat and tie. Women should wear a nice dress or pantsuit.

3. Personality

Doctors must have the ability to communicate clearly, handle life and death issues, manage stress and successfully interact with people. Be prepared to demonstrate that you are a happy, healthy, well-adjusted person with a strong commitment to helping other people.

4. Motivation

Be prepared to discuss your specific interest in medicine and to demonstrate a path of increasing responsibility in a health care environment.

5. Walk with self-confidence

Always come with your strong points. Don't put yourself down but be aware of your weak points.

6. Listen to the Interviewer

Listening is good quality. You have to listen what the interviewer is saying. If you are unable to understand the question then ask for clarification. Don't interrupt the interviewer. If the interviewer asked you about a medical issue, answer sincerely and honestly. You may disagree with the interviewer, but do not push it. This is not the time to argue.

7. Relax and enjoy yourself

It is an opportunity to visit a new place and meet people who share your interest in medicine. So be relaxed at the interview.

8. Keep your answers short

Give 4 to 6 line answer to every question. This is enough to stimulate further discussion if the interviewer desires. You must avoid simple yes and no answers.

9. Knowledge

If you did research, then be prepared to talk about what you did in depth. You must know the overall goal of your research also its benefit to society. You must ready to explain your contribution in the research. You must know different special areas in medicine and their responsibilities. Interviewers will also expect you to discuss current issues in medicine.

10. Clinical experience

Few candidates usually have experience working in an emergency room or in a doctor's office. You have to prepare to discuss your experience. If you have done any volunteer work then that will be beneficial for you.

11. Watch your tone

Don't get defensive. Your tone can be revealed in both the words you choose and your voice. You can practice for responding to difficult questions with a friend before the big day.

12. Follow up

Always send thank you letter within 24 hours after the interview. Send thank you letter to each person with whom you interviewed. In the letter, emphasize that you enjoyed the visit, give a concrete example of something very positive about the school, and express your strong desire to attend that school.
