Indian gooseberry named much in Tamil as a proverb,'Nellikkaayum mooththor sollum munne pulikkum,pinne inikkum' which means the gooseberry and elder's words are taste sweet later though initially it tastes bitter or sour. It is true if we taste the raw gooseberry the taste is sour but if we consume little water later it will taste sweet.
The gooseberry is used by soaking into honey (pure honey) after cutting into cloves. This cloves can be consumed daily in the morning to maintain our vigor.

The Importance of Indian Gooseberry cannot be undermined for its varied quality and usage of it in our life on daily basis. I really like the taste as it has the property of being bitter and sour and some times sweet too. If one piece of gooseberry is taken daily after meals, it will clean up the digestive system and the stomach would be free from ulcers. The Amla powder which we get from the gooseberry seeds are good for hair growth and when added with henna, it will give lasting efforts for the ladies to have lush, long hair and the grey color would be prevented.
