The author has not thrown light on the quantity of the bitter gourd juice to be taken for deriving maximum health benefits. Should it be only in few spoonful quantity or full or half cup of it. Also how much quantity of juice can be extracted say from one kilograms of the whole bitter gourd? Is taking excess quantity of bitter gourd juice likely to be harmful e.g. in the case of a diabetic person where apprehensions of hypoglycemia arises. Also is it useful and beneficial to take prepared dishes of bitter gourd instead of its juice. What about eating raw bitter gourd as a whole instead of ingesting its extracted juice.

People are telling that the bitter gourd is good for diabetic but in general itself bitter gourd is good for all. In many houses the use of bitter gourd is avoided as they are thinking that the same is so bitter in taste but in the real sense the bitter gourd is no to that extent bitter. There are small size bitter guards available in south side which is also good in taste. While cooking if the bitter gourd is kept in saltwater for some minutes, the so called bitterness will get vanished. We, in our house, once in a week we are taking bitter gourd in meals. When my wife came to my house after marriage, she was against of using bitter gourd but after getting the advice of my mother she started eating bitter gourd and prepared the bitter guard curry, sambar very well till her last breath.
Besides the juice and other things, bitter gourd can be used in the following way also:
*Cut the bitter gourd into slices
**soak the pieces in water mixed with a spoonful chilli powder, little salt and turmeric powder.
***drain the water and make the slices dry
***deep fry the slices in oil or micro wave oven
It is of good taste to munch as it is and can be used as side dish for sambar/curd rice.
