Whereas under weaker section category candidate may claim whose parents or guardians annual income is less than Rs.3.5 lakhs per annum from all sources, however educationally and socially creamy layers were described in detail by the Social Welfare Department.

  • They must seek admission for L.K.G. or Ist Standard as applicable
  • Order of preference required to be mentioned names of any 5 schools must be chosen
  • Students who selected under this quota allowed free education up to 10th standard
  • When student selected for admission it is the responsibility of the parents or guardians to produce all the original documents for verification
  • Selection of students will be made through lottery system after receiving student's application through online
  • In case student wish to make paper application, applications should be submitted in all the school which they have chosen in order of preference

What is 25% quota of Right to Education in Karnataka

Out of the total seats available in the designated nearby schools 25% of the seats earmarked for students admission under Right to Education 2016 in Karnataka that means students who get admission under 25% of quota completely exempted from paying any admission or fees of any kind.

The 25% quota is applicable only to those students who seek admission where they come under the age of 6 years, this free education available to the child till it attains 14 years of age or completion of 8th standard.

What is Prathibha Karanji under Right to Education in Karnataka

Prathibha Karanji is an extended program implemented in Karnataka for students of Primary Education who admitted under RTE Act.

The program helps students in developing personality as the program combines entertainment with education to bring out the hidden talents of the students, the program is a platform to gain and acquire hidden talents in a competitive spirit wherein a student can gain exhibiting capacity through extracurricular activities.

Prathibha Karanji program is for children of 1 to 4 and 5 to 7 classes where individual competitions will be conducted for Recitation, Recitation- Religious verses in Sanskrit and Arabic, Light Music, Fancy Dress, Drawing, Storytelling, Action song, clay modeling and Yogasanas whereas group competitions will be conducted for Folk Dance, Patriotic song, Kolata, Quiz etc.

Which are the documents to be submitted for RTE admission

Students who seek admission under Right to Education required to produce the below mentioned documents to all the schools they apply in order of preference.
  • Birth Certificate for age proof
  • Caste or Income Certificate issued from Social Welfare Department or Revenue Department
  • Voters Identity of parents for address proof
  • Children with special needs or HIV affected or any other type of infections disability certificate to be produced issued from Health Department
  • If child is an orphan death certificate of parents or affidavit issued from Women and Child Development Department
  • In case of Migration or street child affidavit should be produced issued from Educational Department or Women and Child Development or Labour Department
  • Identity proof in this case photo of the child should be produced


How to apply through online for Right to Education 2016 in Karnataka

Children who seek admission through Right to Education for the year 2016 may go through the steps mentioned below to apply through online.
  • Information provided should be proper which should be supported by the documentary evidence when admission is allotted
  • Candidate restricted to submit only one application however maximum of 5 nearby designated schools should be mentioned in order of preference
  • Should mention address proof properly as given in Voters ID of the parents or Aadhar Card any discrepancies mentioned in the application will be rejected
  • Child should have attained 3 years and 10 months but not more than 4 years and 10 months as on 01.06.2016 for admission to Lower Kindergarten, whereas for 1st standard child should have attained the age of 5 years and 10 months but not more than 6 years and 10 months as on 01.06.2016
  • In case child issued birth certificate proper dates should be mentioned as given in the certificate, original birth certificate should be produced when admission is allotted
