Indian Languages Government training program admissions for school teachers 2016-2017


Are you a high school teacher eager to undergo government training in a regional language? This article provides complete information on the admissions notification of the Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL) to its special training program in Language Education in any one of the modern Indian languages at its various regional language centres in India.

The Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL), which is under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, invites applications for its special training program in Language Education in any one of the modern Indian languages at its various regional language centres.

Overview

There are totally 550 seats available for admission, with specific quotas reserved for different categories as per the policy of the Government of India. The course duration is 10 months, from July 2016 to April 2017, and hostel facilities are available. Note that you cannot undertake any other course or exam during the CIIL training program.

Those selected will be paid their salaries based on the last pay certificate sent by their Drawing and Disbursing Officers. In addition to the salary, trainees will receive a stipend of Rs.800/- per month during the training period.

On successful completion of the training program, the trained teachers would be eligible for receiving a cash allowance of Rs.70/- per month if they teach the language for a minimum of 3 periods in a week and a minimum of 10 students in their respective institutions for at least 1 academic year.



Training program modules

Instructions for the training program will be in the particular language & will include linguistic studies, which incorporates pedagogy, analysis, translation, etc. Each day will comprise of 6 hours of instruction. There will be periodical tests and a final exam at the end of each term. You will need to score minimum 60% marks to avail of the benefits of the program.
  1. Basic course: 14 weeks of 420 clock hours.

  2. Intermediate course: 12 weeks of 360 clock hours.

  3. Advanced course: 12 weeks of 360 clock hours.

There will also be a 2 weeks Language Environment Tour which is mandatory for all the trainees.

Eligibility requirements

  1. You should be an in-service teacher working in a Government / fully Government-aided High School (6th to 10th classes).

  2. You should have at least 3 years of teaching experience.

  3. You should not be trained earlier in any of the languages in any of the listed centres.

  4. You should not have any previous knowledge in the language applied for.

How to apply

  1. Download the application form from the official website: www.ciil.org, under 'Language Training Program'.

  2. Send the filled up application form along with copies of all the requisite certificates and a crossed Demand Draft (DD) for Rs.150/- in favour of Director, Central Institute of Indian Languages, payable at Mysore.

    Note: The applications should be sent through the proper channel, duly certified and recommended by the Headmaster of the school, the Inspector of Schools or any other higher authority such as DEO or the Director of Education.

    The application form has to be sent by ordinary post only to: The Director, Central Institute of Indian Languages, Manasagangotri, Mysore – 570006.

Important Notes:
  • You will need to produce your last pay certificate (LPC) indicating all details related to basic pay, scale of pay, DA, ADA, HRA, CCA, date of increment, etc duly signed by a Gazetted Officer declared as DDO and counter-signed by Inspector of Schools/DDO. A copy of the pay fixation order to the present scale needs to be attached to the LPC and the service book needs to be sent for verification.

  • You will need to obtain & send along with your application form a certificate of medical fitness from a Medical Officer stating that you are physically fit & can sustain conditions in the place of training.
