Railway recruitment 2016

When it comes to Government jobs in India, RRB is one of the biggest and highly competitive exams. Many of the job aspirants like you are eagerly applying for the RRB vacancies every year. RRB has already announced recruitment notice in December 2015 for filling up 18252 vacancies. The recruitment of candidates will be done by conducting exams in various regions of India. Respective RRB will conduct exams. Candidates will be selected on the basis of performance of RRB exams and personal interview. Read further details about railway recruitment 2016 below.

General eligibility criteria

You should have completer 10th/ 12th/ Graduation/ Engineering in relevant field from recognized university or institute. Typing proficiency in English/ Hindi on computer is also required for some of the posts. You can refer post-wise eligibility criteria in the official advertisement of railway recruitment 2016.

Age limit

You muse have your age completed 18 years and less than 32 years as on 01st January, 2016 for applying to RRB exams. Upper age relaxation of 5 years is applicable for SC / ST, 03 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for candidates who are residing in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. Age relaxation for PWD candidates is 10 years, for UR with disabilities is 13 years and for SC/ ST candidates with disabilities is 15 years.

How to apply for railway recruitment 2016 exams

You should apply online at respective RRB website. All RRB websites are listed in the main website which is http://www.indianrailways.gov.in . To apply online, follow the steps mentioned below.
  • Go to www.indianrailways.gov.in and click on recruitment tab
  • Now you will see the list of links of all RRB websites and click on the corresponding RRB link
  • Now click on the link of online application form and fill-up all required details
  • Upload scanned copy of photograph, signature and required documents
  • Pay application fee online or through SBI challan
  • Before submitting online application, once again verify all data you entered and then hit on submit button
  • Now take a print of your application for further reference

Note: Online applications are closed as the last date for applying 25th January 2016. You can now download e-call letter for appearing RRB exams 2016. To download call letter, visit respective RRB website and find a link titled, "Click here to Download Call Letter for Online Examination - C.E.N. No. 03/2015" and download call letter by entering your user-ID and user password. User id is your Registration number and Password is your date of birth as entered during online application stage.

Application fee, syllabus and exam pattern

Exam fee of Rs. 100 will be applicable for UR and OBC male candidates. No exam fee will be collected for candidates belonging to SC / ST / Ex-Servicemen / Women / Minorities / Transgenders / Persons with disabilities / Economically backward classes. You should appear for Common CBT (Examination) which will be held on the same day(s) of all participants of RRBs. It is tentatively scheduled during March to May 2016. Negative marking is applicable for wrong answers. 1/3 of negative marking will be followed for each question if answered wrong. The question paper of CBT exam will be of objective multiple choice type. It will be in English, Hindi, Urdu, and some local languages. For example, for RRB Chennai, question paper will be in Tamil also. A total of 100 questions will be asked for which 90 minutes time duration will be given. Questions are likely to be coming from General awareness, Arithmetic, General intelligence and Reasoning.

RRB exams preparation tips

You should prepare well to crack RRB exams. Follow some important tips to prepare well for examinations not only to RRB exams but all other exams too.
  1. You make a proper study plan based on the syllabus of R
    RB exams and stick to it.
  2. Focus on section-wise planning. Leave the one which is extremely difficult for you
  3. Create all shortcuts and make them at your fingertip
  4. Use some solved RRB exam question papers asked in the previous years.
  5. Don't prepare for exams overnight. Well sleeping is important to have your memory fresh
  6. Don't practice continuously over time. Take a short-break between certain times.
  7. Do some yoga in the evening to have good mental health
  8. Time management is one of the important tip in exam preparation and attending RRB exams. Attend the questions first for which you know sure answer. Don't stick on the questions which you can't solve easily. Attend those questions at last. Have a time-watch with you in the exam so that you can know time and avoid tensions
  9. Don't be hurry while attending the questions. Solve questions naturally. If you are in hurry, you may forget some known questions.
