In this way, they will not impart good training and do not become very successful in the future. A student should consider many points before choosing a right engineering stream.

Ways to choose a right stream for engineering

Students who score good marks in twelfth usually prefer to choose a field related to computers or electronics. They may get a seat in reputed college, but may not score very bright marks in the field when they enter the stream, because they are actually skilled in some other branch. Some students are extremely skilled in drawing or structuring. Such students can choose architecture by considering future prospects. They can become independent practitioners and earn very high income. They can alternatively choose interior designing also and become successful in the related field. They usually think that choosing computer related field is a prestigious issue to them.

Many students abruptly choose a field related to computers. Colleges offer different types of stream pertaining to computers such as Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer application etc. Each of these courses offer different subjects and teach about different aspects of computers. Usually computer science emphasizes more on language, coding and programming aspects. They study the internal aspect of the computer. In Information Technology, a person learns about storing, restoring, retrieving information, transmitting, extracting data, etc. It focuses more about communication aspects. Computer applications emphasize more about the operating systems and the different applications used in computers. A student may be interested in hardware also and so he or she can choose the related field.

If a student is planning to choose computer related field, he or she should score good marks in physics. If the student has built a strong foundation in physics, then he or she can grasp about computer related subjects clearly.

A student can become a good chemical engineer if he or she has scored good marks in chemistry. A student can grasp civil concepts also clearly, if the student's score is good in chemistry.

A student scoring good in biology can choose various branches that are emerging such as biochemistry, genetic engineering, biomedical, bioimformatics etc.

Students should analyze their inner skills and interests rather than only glancing through their scores. They should think about their future and the career that can bring reward to them.

If students just flood for computer related field, then only few students can acquire the seat they want and the remaining students should choose a stream where the seats are not filled, whether they are interested in the field or not.
