IntroductionDr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, President of India, who was well known as a strong advocate for young people and a passionate supporter of clean energy and energy independence, had visited the University of South Florida (USF) in the year 2012. The 'President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Postgraduate Fellowship' was announced in his honor by USF. Starting with the year 2016-17, one award is to be offered each academic year to an Indian student who has graduated or is about to graduate from an Indian university and intends to pursue Ph.D. program at USF in the eligible fields of study.
