Art & Design Scholarship at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia


The UNSW offers students a variety of scholarships at the undergraduate and postgraduate (research or coursework) levels to international students. Scholarship programs that Indians are eligible for include the UNSW Art & Design Scholars Program, UNSW Honours Year Scholarships, the UNSW Art & Design International Scholarship (separate scholarships for Coursework and Research), Freedman Curatorial Scholarship, International Postgraduate Research Scholarship and University International Postgraduate Award among others. Courtauld Postgraduate Scholarships, London


The Cortauld Institute of Art in London offers several scholarships (funded by many donors) to MA, PhD and Conservation students of the school. The financial support is merit-based and the amount depends on the financial need of the applicant. Awards have a minimum value of 5000 GBP. The scholarships are offered to new as well as present students. Application deadlines vary. Assessment of merit and financial need are done by the course tutors and the Dean/Registry respectively.

Edinburgh College of Art Scholarships, University of Edinburgh, UK


Scholarships are offered by the Edinburgh College of Art at various levels. Programs include the PhD Scholarships and the Andrew Grant Postgraduate Scholarships. The second program offers awards ranging from 5000 GBP to 15,000 GBP for one academic year. Applicants may be enrolled in the School of Art (which prioritizes subjects like Post Media, Art Criticism and Educational Turn, as well as subjects of Contemporary Art Practices, Extradisciplinary Arts. Students of the School of Design, ESALA School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture and the School of History of Art can also apply for the scholarships.

DAAD Study Scholarships for Foreign Graduates in the Fields of Fine Art/Design/Visual Communication and Film, Germany



Students who have already gained a first degree in the fields of Fine Art, Design/Visual Communication and Film, and are applying for a postgraduate masters or complementary course in a recognized German university can apply for these scholarships. The funding covers between 10 and 24 months of a Master's program or one academic year of a complementary study that does not lead to a final qualification. The Courses usually begin October 1. The scholarship value is 750 Euros monthly, and includes initial study allowance, travel allowance, health and accident cover etc. Selection is on the basis of work samples and written applications.
