Pharmacy Diploma course 2016 admissions in Institute of Pharmacy, Kalyani, Bankura & Jalpaiguri

Institute of Pharmacy is seeking applications from Higher Secondary (HS) or equivalent 10+2 std. exam passed candidates for admission in two years Diploma course in Pharmacy in Kalyani, Bankura & Jalpaiguri.

There are three Government Institutes of Pharmacy in West Bengal located at Jalpaiguri, Kalyani and Bankura under the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of West Bengal. Presently applications are being invited by the institutes for admissions to 2 years D.Pharm course for the academic session of 2016 – 2018.

Eligibility criteria for D.Pharm course

Educational qualification

Candidates who are interested to take admission in 2 years Diploma course in Pharmacy must be passed in 10+2 std. Higher Secondary examination in science stream or equivalent exam as per Indian Pharmacy Council's recognization. However, candidates who are passed in 10+2 std. HS or any equivalent examination in Vocational Stream will not be eligible for the admission.



Age limit

Age of the students should be between 16 years and 30 years as on 1st June, 2016 to apply for the pharmaceutical study. However, upper age limit will be relaxed up to 33 years for the candidates who belong to the category of Schedule Caste (SC) and Schedule Tribe (ST).

Residential criteria

All applicants must be Indian citizens. Furthermore, applicants must be residents of the state of WB permanently as well as uninterruptedly for a period of minimum 10 years as on 1st June 2016. Alternatively, Students or their parents should be permanent residents of West Bengal with permanent address in WB.

Admission process

Selection of candidates for 2016 Diploma course in Pharmacy will purely be on the basis of total marks scored by the candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics / Biology in 10+2 standard HS or equivalent examination as recognized by Pharmacy Council of India.

Merit list / results of eligible candidates for admission in D.Pharm course 2016 – 2017 will be published at the notice board present at ground floor of Swasthya Bhavan, Kolkata; office of Institute of Pharmacy, Jalpaiguri as well as Kalyani and Bankura and the office of Chief Medical Officer of Health of each districts. It will also be available at www.wbhealt.gov.in – the official website of Department of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of West Bengal.

In addition to the merit list, relevant rules and regulation for the admissions will also be published there.

Hostel accommodation & fees

Only few limited number of seats are available for male students in hostels of all three pharmaceutical institutions which can be availed on payment of hostel expenses as decided by the institute.

Application procedure

Desirous candidates who are eligible as per the above criteria may send their filled in application in prescribed format only. Prescribed format of application may be downloaded from the following link. Alternatively, it is also available at the notice board present at ground floor of Swasthya Bhavan, Kolkata; offices of all three Institutes of Pharmacy at Kalyani, Jalpaiguri and Bankura as well as the office of Chief Medical Officer of Health of each districts.

Applications should be forwarded to the Principal, Institute of Pharmacy, Kalyani, P.O. – Kalyani, Dist. – Nadia, Pin – 741 235 by hand personally or speed post or registered post.

Application must be kept in a sealed envelope along with the supporting documents as mentioned below. Sealed envelope should be superscribed by "Application for admission into Diploma in Pharmacy, 2016 – 2017".

Important documents to be attached with application

  • Self-attested copy of pass certificate of Madhyamik (10th std.) or equivalent examination.
  • Self-attested copy of mark sheet and registration certification of HS (10+2 std.) or equivalent exam as approved by Indian Pharmacy Council.
  • Residential certificate.
  • Caste certificate if applicable.
  • Physically handicapped certificate if applicable.
  • Medical fitness certificate.

  1. Last date of receipt of application: 17th June 2016 till 04:00 p.m.
  2. Results or merit list publication date: 29th July 2016
  3. Counseling and admission starting date: From 11:00 a.m. on 2nd August, 2016
