The place is located at nearly 1,600 meters or 6000 ft above sea level in the Western ghats array of mountains. How to reach Munnar


The nearest railway station to reach Munnar is Ernakulam and Aluva at the distance of 140 km. If you wish to reach Munnar by Air, then Cochin international airport is the nearest on at the distance of 105 km away. You can easily reach this place through bus from Coimbatore, through Pollachi, Udamalpet to Munnar or from Thekkady to Munnar in just three hours.

Places to visit in Munnar


Mattupetty
While thinking about Munnar trip, note about Mattupetty dam as an exciting place to visit. The dam and its reservoir are around 14 km away from Munnar. The dam is built between the hill ranges and mainly used for the water preservation for the purpose of hydroelectric project. You can enjoy the view of scenic beauty from the location. The place is famous for the elephants who visit there often. Mattupetty is also well known for its Indo-Swiss Dairy Farm. This dairy farm is a home of hundreds of best quality cattle and new varieties are methodically developed here.

Echo Point
Another famous point at just 15km away from Munnar is Echo Point. This is the place loved by youngsters and couples. The place is famous for the echo sound heard here. Go at the point and scream loudly, after a minute you can hear your echo back. Because of this special feature the Echo point is visited by children too. Kundala Lake

Attukad Waterfalls
This wonderful waterfall is situated between Munnar and Palliyasal. It is around 9kms away from Munnar. The place is worth to visit only after the monsoon season. Blossom Park is situated at about 3 km away from Munnar and is spread over the area of 16 acres. The wonderful place is the preferred spot by nature lovers. The blossom park is the place where you can enjoy the view of Muthirappuzha River, green landscapes, artificial waterfalls and lawns. This is the best place for relaxing and rejuvenating.
