How to apply for IBPS August 2016 Clerical cadre bank jobs recruitment exam


Are you looking for a career opportunity as a bank clerk in India? The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has issued the August 2016 notification for conducting an online exam for the common recruitment process (CRP) for selecting qualified candidates for Clerical cadre posts. The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) invites applications from qualified candidates for various Clerical cadre posts or in a similar post in that cadre. Candidates need to appear for the Common Recruitment Process (CWE Clerks -VI) for selection in the participating organizations. The online exam is tentatively scheduled for November/December 2016. Note that candidates can apply for vacancies in any one State/ UT only.

Eligibility requirements for IBPS CWEClerks VI

The eligibility criteria for the clerical cadre posts are:
  1. You must be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or a subject of Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, with requisite eligibility certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

  2. Age (as on 01.08.2016): You should be minimum 20 years and maximum 28 years of age. That is, you should been born not earlier than 02.08.1988 and not later than 01.08.1996 (both dates inclusive).

  3. Educational qualification: You should have a graduate degree in any discipline from a University recognised by the Govt. Of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. Ensure that you have a valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate that indicates that you are a graduate on the day you register for the exam online.

  4. Skills:
    • You should have computer literacy. Operating and working knowledge in computer systems is mandatory. That is, you must have a Certificate/Diploma/Degree in computer operations/Language or should have studied Computer / Information Technology as one of the subjects in the High School/College/Institute.

    • You should preferably have proficiency in the Official Language of the State/UT for which you are applying

Note: Ex-Servicemen who do not possess the above civil exam qualification should be matriculate ExServicemen who have obtained the Army Special Certificate of Education or a corresponding certificate in the Navy or Air Force after having completed not less than 15 years of service in the Armed Forces of the Union as on 12.09.2016 (the certificates should be dated on or before 12.09.2016.)

Application fee

The application Fees/ Intimation Charges, which is to be paid online from 22.08.2016 to 12.09.2016 is: Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/PWD/EXSM candidates and Rs. 600 /- for all other candidates.



Important dates

  1. Online registration is open from 22nd August to 12th September 2016

  2. Payment of application fees should be done online from 22nd August to 12th September 2016

  3. Download of call letter for the pre-exam training: 25.10.2016 to 07.11.2016

  4. Pre-exam training: 07.11.2016 to 12.11.2016

  5. Download of call letter for the preliminary online exam:18.11.2016 onwards

  6. The tentative dates for the online preliminary exam: 26 & 27.11.2016, 03.12.2016 & 04.12.2016 (if required)

  7. Results of the preliminary exam will be declared in December 2016.

  8. Downloading of call letters for the main exam: December 2016

  9. Online Main exam: 31.12.2016 & 01.01.2017

  10. Provisional allotment will be in April 2017

Documents required when appearing for the exam

You must bring the following with you when appearing for the exam:
  1. The valid call letter for the respective date & session of the exam.

  2. Photo-identity proof (as specified in the guidelines) in original bearing the same name as it appears on the call letter/application form

  3. Photocopy of photo-identity proof.
