Beti bachao beti padhao movementre you aware the demography and the sex ratio of India and its states. It is shocking that some of our states like Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, UP, Bihar, Rajasthan and many more having around 800-850 females/1000 male. Let's see why?
Why in India the sex ratio is so bad and the number of females is decreasing day by day? In many states, there are only 800-850 females/1000 male because everyone in India wants mother, sister, wife but no one wants daughter because daughters are the liabilities. No one wants to take this liability happily because our social and political system does not encourage the birth and the upbringing of girl child.
We have to find the reasons for the killing of female babies in the womb ,dowry deaths, rape and murder. These three acts are eliminating the girls and women from this world. How we can address these social issues needs long discussions, deliberations and prompt actions. I suggest some points below which may be helpful to save the fetus, girls and women in our country.
Conclusion All the above measures, coupled with some more measures, will change the mind of the parents and the society. The society will become more friendly with girls and women. It is everyone's responsibility to save the girls and women to save this planet. If the existence of girls and women is in danger then our existence is also in danger too. So please come together to save the girls and women. Let them flourish in this world.
The article throws lots of insight and supports the movement of girl child birth and her protection. No doubt in the recent past the new couples used to avoid the birth of girl child as their elders used to refuse a girl child as the first child of the family. But things have changed , now a girl child is not a botheration but government is also helping to nurture her. In Telangana a girl child is given free education from KG to PG and a new scheme called Kanyadhanam has been introduced through which government shall donate 51,000 as cash for the marriage expenses. For Muslims the scheme is called Shaadhi Mubarak.
The main objectives of the 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (BBBP)' program launched by the Government of India is to prevent gender biased sex selective elimination, It will ensure survival and protection of the girl child and ensure education of the girl child. The program is a joint initiative of Ministry of Women and Child Development, Ministry of Haalth and Family Welfare and Ministry of Human Resource Development. The citizens of India at their individual level can contribute a lot to make the program successful by taking actions such as report any incident of sex determination test, oppose dowry and child marriage within the family and community, support women’s right to own and inherit property, advocate simple weddings, be sensitive to women and girls, celebrate the birth of girl child in the family and community and take pride in daughters and oppose the mentality of ‘Bojh’ and ‘Paraya Dhan’ etc.
