The article reminds me of my childhood. College Square Durga Pooja is the Durga Pooja of my maternal uncles' locality (in Bengali, it is called 'para'). For more than 70 years, this Pooja has remained as one of the grandest Poojas of Kolkata. The brilliant illumination of the adjacent artificial lake makes this Pooja resplendent. The budget of the Pooja has been one of the biggest in Kolkata (no, all over the world!). More than 40 lakh people see this Pooja during the five days every year.

However, a small guidance for the interested tourists who want to visit College Square Pooja is necessary. During the days of Durga Pooja, kindly don't make any attempt to see this Pooja by car. It is simply not possible. The most convenient way is to avail Metro. The tourists are required to get down at 'Central' or 'MG Road' Metro stations and go by walking.

There are more than twenty another Poojas which vie for second spot in Central Kolkata. The first position (in Central Kolkata) goes to College Square Pooja. However, the tourists must also try to visit the Pooja at Mohamma Ali Park. This is another old Pooja of Central Kolkata extremely famous for its grandeur.
