While I do appreciate the author for providing the sample letters in case of existing bank account holders to join in the Jan Dhan yojana and also sample letter for new account in that regard, what I feel is that whose accounts with minimal balance being maintained must be automatically converted to the PM's Jan Dhan yojana and those who are joining with new accounts may follow the formalities. There are so many account holders we have having bank accounts for a name sake and those accounts may be converted to the new scheme as envisaged by the government.

Thanks K Mohan for your visit and adding your feelings. Yes, the Government shall associate existing minimum balance account of any citizen to Jan Dhan Yojana instead of creating a new one. They can easily do it 'one citizen - one Jan Dhan Yojana a/c' through PAN or any other way of document submission as proof.
