You have to write the letter to Bank only if you are an Indian and currently working / staying abroad and wish to remit your salary transaction to India to convert Indian Rupees. This letter shall be sent to the address of the respective Bank where you wish to open said account. You have to furnish little extra credential to open an NRE account than normal one (saving or current a/c within India).

In this regard, I am enclosing the required filled in application form, my Passport copy, full address and contact number (of foreign country where you are at present working), relevant documents as well as photographs as per the requirements.

It would be highly appreciable if you could assist and do the needful to initiate the process as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance for your valuable time and consideration.

Document Enclosures for NRE a/c:

1) An application form.

2) A Copy of Passport.

3) A Copy of overseas employer contract and address proof.

4) PP size photographs - three numbers.

5) Address (overseas) for mailing communication.

Note: If you would like to write a letter to Bank then it is better to write in a simple manner with clear detail, which would help to avoid any miscommunication between you and correspondence Bank officer. Also, make sure to furnish the entire document copies in order to process the account without any pending to approve or complete rejection. This is just because of that you would be in abroad at that time and would process it from there to India which might take more than a week or so to reach the mail, process and reply. It is better to read the Bank requirement and tick the checklist to submit the required documents to process NRE account accordingly.
