About Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) University
VIT University was established in the year 1984 and was formerly called as Vellore College of Engineering. It is a deemed university which is providing professional education to the students in 4 campuses- Vellore and Chennai in Tamil Nadu, Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh and Amaravati in Andhra Pradesh. The institution offers UG, PG, Integrated and Research Programs. VIT University is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). The University offers wide opportunities for the students to get placed in top companies. VIT supports International Transfer Programme (ITP), through which the students can study their first two years at VIT University and the next two years in some Universities located at the USA, UK and Australia.
Admissions in VIT University VIT University admits students in a transparent manner on merit basis only through Online Entrance Examinations. The University never encourages agents or middlemen for the admission of the students. There is neither Capitation fee nor Management quota at VIT. Separate Entrance Examinations are conducted for the admission of UG and PG courses. VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) is the Entrance Examination conducted by VIT University every year during the month of April and May for B.Tech programmes.
For the admission of PG courses in VIT, the candidates have to appear for VITMEE, conducted in the month of June every year.
About VITEEE-2017 VITEEE-2017 is the Engineering Entrance Examination to be conducted by VIT University in the year 2017 for the admission of the candidates in UG courses available in the 4 campuses, operating under VIT University. VITEEE-2017 is purely a computer based test. The duration of the exam is 2 hours and 30 minutes.

How to Apply The candidates who wish to appear for VITEEE 2017 can apply through either Online or Offline mode.
1. Online: The application cost for online mode is Rs.970/- Candidates can pay the amount through Net banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card. Candidates need not want to send the hard copy of the application form, if they have applied through Net banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card
For NRI candidates, the Demand Draft of 50 USD should be drawn in favor of VIT University. Along with the Demand Draft, the candidates are required to send the hard copy of the application form.

The examinations will be conducted 3 sessions per day- I session: 9.00 am to 11.00 am, II session: 12.30 pm to 3.00 pm, III session- 4.00 pm to 6.30 pm
Note: The number of examinations in a particular center is based on the number of applicants registered in that center.
VITEEE 2017 Examination pattern The exam will contain questions from Physics, Chemistry, English, Biology/ Mathematics based on the VITEEE syllabus (mentioned in the official website). All the questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). The exam will contain 125 questions. No negative marks for wrong answers
PCBE (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English): Total 125 questions: English-5 questions, Physics- 40 questions, Chemistry-40 questions, Biology- 40 questions
PCME (Physics, Chemistry, Maths, English):Total 125 questions: English-5 questions, Physics- 40 questions, Chemistry-40 questions, Maths- 40 questions
VIT University offers Scholarship under "GV School Development Programme". The candidate can avail for the scholarship programme after joining VIT University. The toppers of each state and central board will be given 100% tuition fee waiver for all the 4 years. VITEEE rank holders of 1 to 50 will be given 75% tuition fee waiver, VITEEE rank holders of 1 to 50 will be given 75% tuition fee waiver, rank holders of 51 to 100 will be given 50% tuition fee waiver and rank holders of 101 to 1000 will be given 25% tuition fee waiver for all the 4 years.
