Delhi University allows for both online as well as offline mode of applying for admission to one of its colleges. The details of the application process and the other requirements including eligibility, documents to be submitted are all given in the information brochure that can be either downloaded from the website of the university or can be obtained directly from the university office. Those who will be appearing for the entrance exam will be issued with admit cards. The admit cards will be emailed to the applicants or can be even downloaded from the university website. While carrying their admit cards to the examination centre, the applicants need to produce a valid ID proof too, before they will be allowed to sit for the entrance exam.
Result declaration and counselling
The results will be declared on the official website of the university in the month of May or June 2017. Candidates who have scored above the cut-off marks will be called by the university for the counselling process. The candidates will be called on the basis of merit list. During the counselling the candidates need to produce the necessary documents. Only after the verification of documents and submission of admission fees will the candidates be confirmed for final admission.

It has under its fold 77 colleges spread across the national capital. Many more are enrolled in non-formal education programmes of the university. When it started, there were only 2 faculties, Arts and Science. But now there are 16 faculties and 86 academic departments.
