Central Footwear Institute Agra spot admissions for Diploma programs March 2017


Did you miss out on applying for admission to CFTI Agra courses of January? Not to worry! Spot admissions are now open for the institute's PG Diploma in Footwear Technology (PGDFT) and PG Higher Diploma in Footwear Technology & Management Studies (PGHD). This article provides details of the courses, fees and application process.

Those aspiring for a career in the footwear industry who missed out on the earlier notification of CFTI Agra institute's courses need not worry. Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises' (MSME) Technology Development Centre of the Central Footwear Training Institute, Agra (CFTI Agra) has issued a spot admissions notice for its programs for PG Diploma in Footwear Technology (PGDFT) & PG Higher Diploma in Footwear Technology & Management Studies (PGHD).

About the Diploma Programs

For both the programs, in addition to classroom lectures, there will be practical classes, in-plant training, factory visits, market surveys and general tutorials. Assessment during the courses will include theory and practical exams as well as specific assignments and projects. Hostel facility is available for boys and girls separately, the hostel fee being Rs.81,000/- for 18 months.

PG Diploma in Footwear Technology (PGDFT)

The PGDFT program is an NSQF-approved course (level 7) of 3 semesters, covering 18 months. In-plant training will be of 6 weeks duration. The course gives you an opportunity to start you career in fields like footwear design, supervisory role as a production supervisor, work as a marketing executive for a footwear merchandiser or even launch your own entrepreneurial unit.

Eligibility requirements


  1. Age criteria: You must be 19 years and above.

  2. Educational qualification: You must have a qualified Degree in any discipline, though graduation in Science would be preferable.


Course fee: Rs.1,53,000/-, which can be paid in 2 instalments. The tuition fee of Rs.1,25,000/- is exempted for SC/ST candidates.



PG Higher Diploma in Footwear Technology & Management Studies (PGHD)

The PGHD program is being offered in association with the Leicester College, U.K. and is accredited with the Textile Institute, U.K. The course comprises of 5 modules spread over 18 months. In-plant training will be of 3 months + 6 weeks external training in Leicester College, U.K. On successful completion of the course you can take up job opportunities as a production supervisor or in a managerial post, work as an industrial engineer or start your own venture in the field of footwear technology.

Eligibility requirements

  1. Age criteria: You must be 20 years and above.

  2. Educational qualification: You must have a qualified Degree in Engineering or Technology or Science or have an MBA/M.Com./MCA qualification.

Course fee: Rs.4,65,000/-, which can be paid in 2 instalments. The tuition fee of Rs.2,10,000/- is exempted for SC/ST candidates.

How to apply

You have to fill up the application form in the prescribed form which can either be obtained from the Institute's office or can be downloaded from the CFTI Agra institute's website. Then visit the institute for counselling along with the application form and copies of the requisite testimonials which indicate proof of age, academic qualification, etc.
Cost of prospectus and application: Rs. 600/-.
